Robert Edward's Achievements

  1. I am a 100% T&P disabled vet of NEARLY 20 years. I believe it is possible for me to get chapter 35 benefits under the severe provisions of the title. (with a lot of persuasion) My wife of the last five years may also me eligible for chapter 31 benefits (see Cypert v. Peake, 2008-9) If we both were students we would get $925 a month each. Is my thinking correct? I have heard of vets with 100% T&P either going back to school or getting training in a new field. Please any input would be appreciated. Robert
  2. Have you thought about non-earned-income through self-employment? An example might be making an investment in a house and hiring others to fix it making a profit when it is sold. This would turn investment income and not earned income. I am not interested in homes right now but a few years ago I bought and sold land. I am currently looking for a new way for income. I sincerely believe that not working (for many of us) makes our disability much worse. Any ideas? Please voice them out!!!! Rob
  3. I am approaching my 20 year mark and I want to "try" to work again. My understanding is that I am protected from a decrease of benefits. My question is can I get VA Voc-Rehab? I will only be 44 years old at my 20 year mark. I have a Bachelors degree and I would seek a Masters or higher. Anyone in the same boat? Robee
  4. I wonder if we all wrote our Senators to propose that if a discrepency was in force for a period of time (5,10,15 years) the DOD will adjust their records. A 0% is better than none (first 5 years) and later.... You get the point! IDEAS.... I personally have 2 disabilities one at 60% and one at 100% and DOD has never reconized any of them even so I was discharged because of them. At the time of discharge I was told that my condition was not really a disability but the VAMC decided differently. Robert
  5. http://www.blackanthem.com/News/Internatio..._Look5778.shtml DOD/VA ratings discrepency and disgruntaled Vets If anyone knows how I can write to Gates. Please tell me!!! robert.eisenberg@cox.net Vet ... 1987
  6. Ok I am a little behind the 8 ball.... What is a CUE?
  7. I am looking for any and all statues that I can use in filing with the BCNR. History: I was discharged in 1987 within for a condition that was not considered medical (I had bladder retention problems) I was rated by the VAMC within the first year of discharge for axiety I was rated in 1990 for having a bladder disease and major depression 60% plus 100% I filed with the BCNR in 2000 and was denied the correction (military retirement disability) I filed again in 2003 and was denied again Should I file again with all the statues listed? Please give me advice and please don't tell me about the statue of limitations (it just doesn't apply) All a vet needs to do to get by the statue of limitations is to state something new and relevent to his case that wasn't thought about before... I have not been denied in the past for the statue of limitations. Robert
