HI
Hang in there. Just make sure all your treatment on active duty is documented in your service treatment records. And please try to get a copy for yourself. Before you retire file for compensation and pension benefits. SCD means service connected disability(ies). Ned more info just give a shout

I am a disabled female veteran and a VA employee. After that, I hope I am welcome. I served 8 yrs in the AF. I suffered aheart attack on active duty but was to afraid to lay down and get a disability separation. I let a colonel threaten me to continue working, regardless. So I have alot of anger issues with the military but I hang on. Im glad I found this site. Whatever knowledge I can share with other veterans, I gladly will do. For God and Country Irieigril

I have a veteran that is a senior and he is working part time somewhere around (20) hours a week. He won't file a claim for compensation because he doesn't want to stop working and he was denied based upon the fact that he was working!
Can a veteran be denied compensation based upon him having a job working (20) hours a week or does he have to quit his job before he appeals his claim for VA compensation benefits?

A veteran may receive service connected compensation and work. He or she cannot receive non service connected pension(income based program) or individual unemployability and work. However, a veteran must be service connect and be unable to work due to his service connected disability before he/she can apply for individual unemployability and can be working if his income is below the proverty level. I hope this helps you. Any more questions feel free to ask?
May You Have A Great Veterans Day
