  1. I went through the Houston RO... you have to do research in several fields that interest you (according to their test) and prove that there is expected growth in the field that you want to pursue.....they (Houston) really were encouraging of medical professions and accounting. With your choices you also have to consider your physical ability to perform the work successfully with your disabilities. Hope this was helpful.
  2. Hello all. I am new here and hoping that I can help as well as get advice from others. I was recently approved for VA voc rehab - long term employment services. I am enrolled in school and they are footing the bill. I didn't expect to be approved....it took 14 years to get a 10% SC rating. As I understand it, at 10% the VRC has to determine that your SC is a serious employment handicap. I have discussed this with the DAV and they are doing a increase request based on this..... and a variety of other things. I just received another letter that my application for voc rehab has been received (the standard pre-orientation letter)... seriously? I am attending classes online. I have a decent 2002 HP pavillion....but hitting my VRC up for a laptop. I live in a hurricane prone area. Last year we had to evacuate twice in a 2 week period (Gustav & Ike). So I approached my request as a proactive stance to avoid an overpayment situation - cross your fingers.
