  1. Had my C&P yesterday for IHD, not munch of an exam, checked my BP and listen to my heart and lungs. I was asked for my most recent Dr. exams and asked about how I manage my normal activites. I was handed a sheet numbered from 1-12 with different activities with 1 being the worst and was asked to select the one that best matched my condition. I selected 5 as being moderdly low. I must say the person was concerned about my heart condition and told me to stick with any and all follow up's with my Dr. Now I wounder what selecting nomber 5 will bring? The medical report I sent with my claim states IHD and a heart attack in 1998.

  2. What do you think? Will the VA rate AO IHD conditions when it was first discovered (damage done at this point!) or, use your most recent exam?

Now that most of us are doing better with medication and treatment and, I am glad, will they compensate for your org. condition?

  3. JRW-with proven exposure to AO I dont think you need to worry as this all covers IHD.

ECHO reports also show ejection fractions and narrowing of arteries-by Doppler measurments - which also means- in Most cases- ischemic heart disease.

I would think the VA will rate these AO IHD claims under the atherosclerosis rating schedule- ---still-hard to know without any proposed regulations yet.

I had no heart problems till 98, had a MI, had a stent inplanted to open a 90% blockage.

I filled for IHD the last day of Nov. 09 and now told to report the 26 th of this month for C&P

My hand carried med. report from my last Cardiolagist dated 05 states cardiac history of IHD, stenting, MI, and three- vessel c.o.d with a e.f of 45-50% I will keep you posted -good luck to all!

  5. I had my C&P yesterday for IHD.

I took in my records from my heart Doctor and Hospital. He used my records for all of his information. He only took Blood Pressure and listened to my heart.

On the way out he said I should hear something in 5-6 weeks. I hope he is right

  6. I filled for IHD on the last day of Nov. 09 with my local Service Rep. I had my record from my Dr. in hand at time of filling that states IHD that led to my heart attack. I am now scheduled for my exam on Feb 26. after they called me - apointment letter to follow. Looks like they are least going that far, the reg's will be the question. Lets hope all goes well for all!

  7. You may be correct, I do not have a letter yet but my local VA clinic called and gave me a date for Feb.26 th - letter to follow. I filled the last day of Nov. 09 with a service officer. I do have IHD and heart attack wording on my med. record I had in hand at time of filling.
