  1. Sally Satel is a VA Hack Doctor that is never bothered by current medical evidence or studies. She is all opinions and no facts.

A new clause should be put in the forms for entering military service:

There is a high possibility that you will have PTSD. The Department of Veterans Affairs agrees to treat you for this without treating you like a lowlife who is trying to scam us. The Department of Veteran Affairs agree to provide medical care until you are able to return to civilian life and be productive. The Department of Veteran Affairs agrees to make the process simple which will put less stress on your life.

My oldest grandchild is getting ready to be of the age and I told him when the recruiters come to his school to contact me and I will arrange a nice garden party for them inviting all my veteran friends. While I dont object to him serving his country, I want any disability addressed immediately and I want it in writing.

As for Dr Sally, I use the term dr loosely, I suggest that she goes away. Her comments are causing more harm then the Va does. She is an idiot.

  2. dear allen, i am new to the this as well, john pete breta wings are very good and with their help pointed out information that i find very useful, however all claims are different, but i will tell you what i have done, and i must state most menbers, did disagree wihh me. to make this short i filed a claim, in 1978,va stated no records found, i never avswered ,because va stated all records were burnter in fire, with the help of a good person ,who works at va i got all my records in 2003,i have been in air force and navy, stater in records were papers giving me 100@ air force,va never told me ,navy 100% ptsd [that i get today]c and p, exam ,got me another 100%,again va never told me , all this was found in 2003, i have 56 appeals,on my issues,i have never sent anything to bva, i feel it is a mistake to ever let it out of va level,on each appeal i put cue,3;105a,this was the best move i made,va is working on my claim, see if you can get it back to va,and keep it there, look over your papers,if you find anything wrong appeal under 3;105 a today i am seeing my sentor,i called va yesterday, was informed va is working on my appeals, she also stated i would of done the same thing you did . i was happy to hear her say that i know i made the right move.

I filed for retro but was denied. I am getting 70/30 but felt like the military did an injustice. Of course the VA says my issue is with the military not them and denied my claim for retro (67). I cannot remember exactly but they were suppose to notify exiting service members of the VA process I think starting in late 67 however they never notified me of anything. In fact, they did a "get the hell out of here, your damaged" type of thing with me. I feel like if I go any further with this, they could take away what I get now, so for the moment I am leaving it alone however if anyone ever wins a court case or a law is changed it is on record. Please advise us if you come up with anything and good luck.

  3. I saw a brief ticker on Fox news today that said 2,000 vets were being contacted- by the VA-

these vets had some prostrate exams- that I think needed biopsy- and some might have been infected with Hepatitis C or even AIDS due to faulty sterilization of surgical equipment by VA.

Boy- sure hope I read it wrong- I cannot find anything on Google News yet on this.

You saw news correctly, I saw it also but didnt take note because it doesnt involve me, sorry should have listened closer. I believe that infection is from about 2001 or awhile back. Makes you think twice when they say "oh by the way, you are over 50, got to have these tests".

  4. I believe that telling us slowly what is involved in this theft is wrong. We need to know exactly what they took so we can determine how much of an effect it will have on our lives. The Sentate (or whoever) should demand and release all information that was on this disk. And I dont want to hear any of that National Security nonsense. If they hadnt been doing one of their useless studies and working on real VA problems, this wouldnt be as bad. I do not believe the Social Security issue is over at all just shelved for the moment while they (VA) come up with something else.

To protect myself I have asked for additional ratings. It doesnt pay anymore but if an offset were to occur, I would have a little more fighting power. Does anyone know what the total rating over 100 you can get? Thanks for any information

  5. First they want to talk about offsetting SSD and VA compensation. Then pressure makes them back down. Then they lose (jury still out on theft) records for 26.5 million veterans. They have not really made it clear who is involved. I was discharged in the late sixities however filed a claim later than 1977. I have not received a letter from them and when it is sent, if it is sent, will it clarify who is involved and what steps we are to take to protect ourselves. I have already filed with the credit bureau, but someone is problaby working under my social security number as I speak.

What really amazes me is that they think they should be allowed to have my Social Security records too, they would just misuse them too.

By the way the head of Veteran Affairs is mad as hell, well welcome to our world mr director.

  6. I have decided to sign up for the Equifax gold. My home insurance has insurance to cover this however it will pay legal expenses not alert me when something is going on. I do believe I am going to send a bill for this service to the Department of Veteran Affairs. It will cost them $11.95 for 3 months and then $99.95 for a year. I believe I get a month free. The Equifax program watches all three agencies and then sends alerts to any changes. It has $20,000 coverage with no deduction and 24 hour customer service. My bank has asssured me that they will respond correctly if I watch my account closely which I do anyway.

This entire thing smells, I am angry that I am in this position and it is not my fault so I will be billing the Department of Veteran Affairs. I believe that they should supply every veteran on that disk (or disks) or computer, whatever their story is now, this service. Also they should take what money they can from the man that did this and his supervisor for allowing this to happen.

  7. Are we falling asleep on the issue of the commission proposing to off-set SSDI

income that also pertains to S/C disability ?

Are the large organizations stepping up on this or governors, congress anyone with some clout ?

Do we need to be making massive phone calls and sending in petitions to block this ?

I see on their web-site they will be voting on it May 19th.

    carlie

I hope I am understanding all of this. I am 70%/30% and draw ssd. Because both organizations pay the entire amount for the same disability, i have reason to worry. I have other disabilities that have never been filed on because the VA told me, by phone of course, not to bother I am already getting the max. So to protect myself, do I need to file on the other disabilities. The VA is aware of them but never rated them because they rated me at 70%/30% and there is no way they could pay me more however with additional ratings there a way that the SSD and VA compensation are different. Hope this question is clear because I am getting ready to flood them with paperwork and claims again. I really throught this process was over with but quess that is not true.

  8. i am getting very confusing messages about march, can anyone clear it up. my messages tell me that the vva is not behind the march and that the catholic church is handling alot of it. i do not quite understand what going on. i did plan on attending however i will not attend an event that is not handled correctly. if anyone has anything, please respond. this is not a slam at the catholic church, i just dont understand their involvement, i am not aware of them being involved in veteran affairs.

  9. Hoppy, I am certain there are cases at the BCMR, where some vet has won (?!) -- and, as the Chamber's case shows, any retroactive disability retirement must be heard at the 1st administrative level (the military boards for correction of records, DRB, BCMR), and must exhaust all administrative remedies before it can reach the Federal Circuit. The M.D.'s at the military level, whom are writing for the government are well versed to deny a service-member's (or ex member's) medical claim. The "presumption of fitness for duty" is a very narrow and rigid law. The VA is FRIENDLY compared to the military MD's at the MED, PEB boards! I'll see if I can find a winning case!! ~Wings
