  1. I applied for aid and attendance because due to my brain surgery (which VA messed up) I now have to have someone help me in and out of the tub, help me do everything. VA has authorized me a motor scooter and ramp and tow bar for my car. My brain surgery left me with short term memory, uncontrollable hand and leg movement as well as stuttering. Continuous head pain which they are trying to manage. They didn't mention that they cut 4 nerves that did not need to be cut.

    Question: Will I receive AA?

  2. My husband was in the coast guard. While there stationed in alaska at a one man station, there was one other personnel there who made a mistake and blew the battery up in my husband face. They had to stay there for a month until picked up by a hop. The only thing that was done was flush his eyes out with water. That was in 1982. In 2007 his retna was completely ripped. They asked what injury did he get to his eye. He is now blind in one eye, getting social security, depressed like crazy, leaves for long walks to nowhere, etc... We told them, he applied, was denied, but now is scheduled for a C&P exam. What's going on? Did they approve him? Did they make a mistake or what? I am lost here.

  3. Well I called today and they said the letter was sent out. I guess my money will be in the bank by saturday (hopefully)(lol). I really could use it because our house burned down (thanks to grandson) and we got emergency apt in the wrong side of town. My hubby is blind, so everything falls on me and I keep having these anxiety attacks because there are too many thugs over here. I'm not getting any sleep. The sooner I get from here the better. Hopefully rebuilding tampabay together will fix my house because I am ready to go home, and my husband has gotten so depressed and is ready to go home.

I will keep you all posted as we go. Say a prayer for both of us. I am so glad ya'll are here.

  4. Ok - here we go. We still don't understand. My brother was in the navy attached to camp Le June. Now he had went to ministry school. It was Mother's day 1982. He called my grandmother and me and wished us a Happy mother's day. Went to Burdine's bought me a dress and had it shipped to me. He then went to church to preach his first sermon. All I know is when he got home, he was shot in the back of the head. He was boarding with a naval boarding place.

They first thought it was suicide until I asked what hand was the gun in, they said his right and I told them he was left handed. His ex-wife received his insurance in monthly installments. He was ex navy. She went to investigate his death and 1 year, on the same date they found her dead in her apartment with two gunshots to the head. Then my grandmother and I received the balance of his insurance money. So evidently it was not suicide. His children received military payments monthly until they turned 18.

  5. Hi. I hope someone can answer this question and also place this into the proper section.

My brother was in the Navy. He was killed on Mother's day 1982. He has a son (jr) who was approximately 8 years old when his father died. He is now 34. Throughout his entire life (since his father was killed), he has blamed everyone for taking his daddy from him, acting crazy (I really think he is), going in and out of jail and prison, etc...

I know he has PTSD due to his father's death, but I need to know if there is someway I can file a claim for him to receive some kind of compensation.

Hoping someone can help with some answers. Thanks

  6. I know this is gonna sound stupid, but what is a POA? I did have a private attorney fight for me, that was the only way I won my case. I have been fighting this for 6 years. That's how long it took me with 2 appeals in order to win. But I did elect direct deposit so I will watch the bank.

Another stupid question is do you think it will be soon? (lol) Thank all of you for your replies. Blessings come when you least expect them.
