Could someone tell me what is IRIS and how do I get on it?
I am on ebenifits and check the status of my claim which has not moved in 8 months.
Can I check the progress of my claim through IRIS?

Hello everyone,
I filed a claim in July, and had my C&P in August according to ebenifits they have received all required information
and my claim is in the development phase and has been for approximately 8 months.
I have heard nothing from the VA, can anyone give me an estimate on how long it takes to move to the determination/award phase?
Should I wait or go back to the regional office here in Phoenix.
Any advise? Thank you

Are you talking about SMR's or private medical records? I don't see how they can make any decision without SMR's.
I am talking about SMR's, the letter that the VA sent me made it sound like they did not have my original SMR, however I gave them a copy.
In any event they said that a decision would be made next month..

Good morning everyone,
Received a letter from the VA stating that they had requested my medical records and if they had not received it by November 21 they would made a decision on my claims.
They also stated that I could provide alternate proof and listed what I could provide, is the letter a type of form letter the VA uses?
I gave the Va when I filed a copy of my medical record and dd214 and other requested docs.
What happens if they can not find the originial medical records.
I still have one copy left of my medical records should I give that to them, that would make two copies I have given them

In July I submitted a claim for,
- Ruptured disk
- lower back
- Bilateral Tunnel Syndrome
- Limited Shoulder Mobility
I had my C& P in August, with my claim I had submitted my DD214, Service medical record. All records that was requested I submitted to them.
All of my issues are documented in my medical record, the VA had xrays of their own taken as part ov the C&P.
Yesterday I was looking on eBenefits , saw that my claim is still in development and they needed more information ,, is the following like a form letter to them?

There are many cases where having a POA can greatly help a veterans claim but there are a lot of cases where having a POA doesn't matter. The RO rep. could just be trying to suggest that it may help in your situation. Where and When did you have your exams?
I am waiting on an exam date, just don't know what to expect when I go in for exam

What conditions are you claiming?
Still waiting on the actual exam date for foot surgery bilateal tunnel syndrom, herniated disk in lower back, was in traction, and loss of shoulder mobility these are all SC and in my med record.
I was curious why it was recomended to have a POA for this claim

Hey everyone,
Monday I got my letter from the regional office telling me that they have requested an exam date at the Phoenix VA Hospital, seems to be going smooth so far.
I also got a call from the RO rep to go over my package and to inquire if I had anything else to submit, he also suggested that I have a POA with one of the service organizations,
that made me wonder, why does it look bad for me. So what happens at the exam? what questions are asked and do they xray, just trying to get a picture here..

Hello to everyone, just found this site a couple of days ago, and very glad I did. Just started a claim last month, Why I waited 15 years I just don't know (pride I guess)
Retired USMC Msgt after 23 years, now with a bad back, foot surgey, and very little shoulder mobility from 100# plus packs we humped around, it gets kind of scary looking at
how the VA rates disibility.
