I currently got out of the USN after serving 12 years active duty from Va Beach, VA in Aug 2009 and came to Sasebo Japan where I am currently residing on my husbands orders. I received paper work from the VA that I needed to get an exam back in Dec through the mail. When I contacted the embassy to schedule the exam they told me that Sasebo is not able to give that kind of exam and that I would not be able to get one unless I go back to the states. I emailed the VA with my findings and received an email back saying that my email was being passed to someone who was being assigned to my claim. Two weeks later I get the settled claim in the mail for 0% disability. This is not justifiable! Does anyone have any ideas what I should do or how I can get the VA to grant me an exam. Thank you for any assistance you can provide me with.
