Is It To Late To Apply For Ssdi

Question

I’m a 100 percent disabled vet , service connected. I’m nearly deaf and have two hearing aids now which help some, but still can hear some with them, but not much.

We’ll the VA gave me 100 percent in 2001 is it too late to apply for SSDI? I have seen the rules on SSDI, I think it was that I would have to be employed 5 years out of 10 years. Is this correct? I just wondered because, if your disabled and applying late would that rule apply? It doesn’t make sense in my case. I did go to social security after I was awarded by the VA, but was told I would not qualify for anything and not to apply. No help at all from the SS. Well in 2006 same thing again. I never even filled out paper work, otherwise I was denied from filling out the paper work to even get started. Then it happened again last week.

Is it still too late for me to apply and get an attorney?

Any good attorneys anyone could recommend.
