postman56
Thanks for the info Bergie! The question that I have is: I am rated at 20% for left Lumbar radiculopathy (which I am told is sciatica) I am rated 0% for right sciatica, I have filed for an increase for right sciatica because of bilateral issues. My buttocks hurt when walking for a period of time in which I have had to take time off work, because of the deman on constant walking. Will the va consider the bilatteral concept or am I going to have to fight them on this?.

Without knowing more about your claim I cannot say for sure if they will use the bi-lateral factor. I recommend that if you don't get the rating you want that you take your time and develope your claim. What I mean is that you have 1 year to file an appeal, so use the time wisely. I suggest you consult a neurologist to have a nerve conduction study and/or EMG. These tests will prove or disprove your claim. With them you have undisputable evidence that the VARO cannot argue with. Also, when you file the appeal ask for a DRO hearing, the hearing is the best way to win your case as it allows you to present your case and clarify any questions they have. I always ask for a hearing when it comes to appeals. Hope this helps, Bergie
