To follow up on the Dec 19th SVR show with Notable Veterans Lawyer, Doug Rosinski, this is a link to his Sept 2012 testimony to the H VAC -Sub Comm D & M regarding the VA fiduciary Mess:
Although many fiduciary arrangements are not problematic, the reality is the VA has immense control over the established compensation benefits paid to any veteran the VA has declared 'incompetent'.
It is no secret that a few years ago the news started to break, that VA had given convicted felons the right to be fiduciary agents for veterans. VA had failed to perform even the most simple background check on them.
The lack of substantial oversight in the VA fiduciary program has turned many veterans and their spouses into complete victims, unable to spend or make decisions over a rightful compensation benefit, that belongs to the 'incompetent' veteran, and not to the VA.

If you take the time to contact your Senators about HR 5948, The Veterans Fiduciary Reform Act of 2012, and tell them why they must pass this bill, you could be making a difference to the lives of many veterans, and any vet,at some point, could find themselves in a fiduciary situation,if VA deems them incompetent, ….....so do this for yourself and your dependents as well.
We should all act NOW.
The House passed HR 5948, but the Senate most probably won't unless they hear from you!
