NIMMS
New to the board, question about action after NOD received. My NOD was received two months ago but no appeal has been opened. Is this normal for a regional office to delay opening an appeal? Thanks in advance for responses.
0 Berta
"Is this normal for a regional office to delay opening an appeal?" It is normal for a NOD to sit in a stack for a long time. Someone at my RO told me they color code NODs with tabs and don't work on them until the color of tab indicates a year has passed. I don't know if that is true but nothing much happens for months after you file a NOD in many cases. They gave you the exact reasons for denial so now is the time to get the ducks in a row with whatever they said was lacking in the claim. GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University ! When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we." Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
