purple
Over a week ago I went to a civilian Gyn doc, the VA made it extremely clear that this was a "referral appt" only and she wasn't allowed to do any tests/procedures. Basically her hands were pretty much tied. Kinda makes the appt worthless. Anyway, just today in the mail I receive the form authorizing my fee-based Gyn care. That's not the best of it. On the form under "Conditions For Which Services Are Requested" there is listed the following: Erythematous....not knowing what that is...I looked it up. Guess what? It's a skin condition!!!! Has nothing at all to do with Gyn!! So the instructions on the form state that if there are any errors on the form to call their office, so I did. The lady who answered told me it was no big deal. Earlier I received a call from a different lady in the fee-based office and she was PISSED OFF!! She said that the civilian doc's office that I saw was refusing to release my records to her until I sign an ROI. Well, of course, I would hope so! She said that I would not be allowed any further fee-based care for this purpose until I go to her office and sign the ROI. I let her know that the physicians office was only following the HIPPA laws and I was glad that they were. What a mess.

HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted July 17, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 17, 2009 Wait a sec! Heck, I've had this erythematous before. Had a devil of a time getting rid of it. Come to find out, I was going to the wrong specialist all along it would seem. I shoulda known to go to an OB/GYN instead of a dermatologist! Maybe they coulda given me some of that stuff for yeast infections!
