Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Question

The other day when I saw my Heart Doctor, and we talked about my eating problem, he indicated that I most likely have a Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and that I'm a Compulsive eater. Like a drug user or drinker, we use food to ease and/or hide our emotions and other problems. This really has nothing to do with obesity, as a person can still be a compulsive eater, and be of normal size. I was not that lucky. Is this or could this be secondary to PTSD? This is not meant to be about obesity, but a mental issue that can lead to obesity in a indirect way.

I searched the BVA decisions for compulsive eating and PTSD here's a link to the results http://goo.gl/xvwa I'm not sure which way the VA would rule in this situation. Compulsive eating, if part of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and OCD being part of PTSD it might be able to connected. However, I think it would be very hard. But, perhaps reading through those BVA decisions you may find something useful. I hope this helps.
