Berta
Great article. And an important one. I heard a stat that said one of every three seniors falls every year. And many of those falls can mean a hip or leg has been broken. The CHAMPVA Magazine had a good article last year on falls too. I dont get this-Neither Medicare nor CHAMPVA pays for prescription orthonics and they can be costly. If I didnt wear orthonics I would probably fall over.If one has severe ankle pronation- there ankle turns inward and the knee can follow- causing balance problems. I tried to use a cane when I was waiting for my orthonics-to hit some yards sales a few years ago- and almost tripped over the cane. Canes can be dangerous and they must be used carefully.
