Heatstroke

Question

After 3 years and 2 months in the Marine Corps I had a heatstroke while on a battalion run. I spent 5 days in ICU. I was told I had a heat intolerance and therefore discharged from the Marines shortly after. That was back in 1993, since then I have been diagnosed with diabetes, have heart problems, and this week was told I have skin cancer. Are there any chances of getting a service connected disability from my heatstroke?

I assume you were Mebbed for the heat stroke.

If you have recurrent residuals from that, and can prove there is no other etiology but for the inservice heat stroke, it is possible (probably with an IMO) they could SC it and possibly at a ratable level.

The skin cancer as well could have been from the sunlight exposure too and you should claim that.

Are you a Vietnam incountry veteran? If so, the diabetes (if type 2 diabetes) and the heart problems (if ischemic heart disease)_ can be presumptively service connected to your service in Vietnam under the Nehmer Court Order.
