Rheumatoid Arthritis due to burn pits
Is r/a now a presumptive condition for se Asia. I’m an OIF vet and was finally diagnosed with r/a 2 years ago. I complained about stiff joints for 8 or 9 years. Finally they had an answer R/A. My r/a civilian doc says r/a was caused by burn pits and silica. She says she will write a nexus and fill out a dbq. She already knew about the connection of burn pits being associated with cancer and autoimmune disorders. I’m on humira which helps somewhat. But it’s still bad on my fingers, toes, hips, and shoulders. She also said she’d complete a fibro packet as well. Is this worth pursuing? Or will they shoot it down?

Individual Ready Reserve Activation consideration in Disability Claim
Hi, 😀 This is my first post, USMC 2002-2006 3521 OIF 2006. I had a question and wasn't really sure where to find the answer. I am applying for a disability claim, PTSD in service in Iraq, anxiety, and depression,.... I am filing by myself, my VSO ghosted me for several months and I moved on. I have done the C&P for all my mental health claims a couple of weeks ago and my claim is in the review stage. My question is, in November of 2008 a whole bunch of us 3521s were called back or activated I am not sure while in IRR (2006-2010). I was fedex'd orders, given a plain ticket to Kansas City, and we stayed in a hotel with some kind of military personnel a…

National Guard during Desert Storm eligibility
Hi Everyone, I'm asking this for a friend of mine who is struggling with getting accurate info about his eligibility for VA disability compensation. He was in the National Guard and was activated and deployed to Germany for 9 months during Desert Storm. He saw no combat, and was never in the Persian Gulf. After 9 months in Germany his unit proceeded on to Kuwait, but he returned home. He received a flyer in the mail that he may qualify for VA Health Care (which I think he does based on some reading). He feels he has a hearing loss claim as well as a few other things, but he can't come up with a clear answer as to whether he qualifies. He did talk to a VSO who do…

Cluster Headache/Migraines
I have a question concerning headaches. I am rated for cluster headaches(10%). I have been having migraines 2 to 3 times a month and have been prescribed medication so it is now documented in my records. I have recently received my rating for PTSD and I am trying to figure out should I apply for and increase for my cluster headaches since I am already service connected or do I apply separately for migraines and s/c it to because of my PTSD? From what I have read all they fall under the same category. I am working my headache log. Is there anything else I need to do? Any help is appreciated

I am about to file a claim for Headaches. Below is the information I will supply in the claim. Do you think it will suffice?
Hello all, below is what I plan on filing with my VA claim. Do you think it will suffice? I was sure to point out I have a current diagnosis by the VA. A convincing nexus along with how the condition has already been acknowledged as being secondary to my current rated condition. Backed by citation of another veterans review. And finally, criteria of my condition and how it falls in line with the 50% rating for headaches. Beginning of claim "Headache Claim With a recent suggestion of my VA Primary Care physician to include daily intake of Zyrtec and Flonase to ease my Allergic Rhinitis symptoms, my headaches have began to occur less frequently an…

First Baby dependant question
Hello, I just had my first child yesterday. Mother and baby are doing great! I went online to add her as a dependent and it says I need her social security number. I was told I won't get the social security number for 8 to 10 weeks. Can I file this using the form my states department of health gave me that can be used for insurance and paid family leave? If not it says my current application expires June 1st. If I get the number in time when would my effective date be? If I don't get the social security number in time will I effectively benefits for a couple months? I'm currently 70% service connected. Please ask any questions i…

VA denial for insomnia secondary to service connected patellofemoral pain syndrome.
Hello. I was recently denied secondary insomnia to my service connected patellofemoral pain syndrome even though a VA sleep dr diagnosed me with insomnia and the Cp examiner linked my sleep disorder to my left knee pain. Reading the CFR that they stated doesn’t say anything like they wrote for their explanation. Doesn’t this write up seem to contradict itself? Jay

Adding foreign spouse to benefits?
Hello, apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I'm P&T TDIU and will be marrying a foreign woman in the near future, in Sweden specifically. We will marry in Sweden and then upon my return to the US I will file for her to be permitted to permanently immigrate here as my spouse. I looked at the application to add a dependent to my benefits (not going to submit until after the actual wedding) and I saw it requires her social security number. She does not have one as she has not been to the US yet, although she will obtain one in the future whenever she is entitled to it per our immigration laws. Will this prevent me from adding her as a dependent for the pay incre…

"YES, I have a dependent parent(s)." ?
I hope this is the correct place for this question rather than the CAREGIVER section. Anyway, here goes. My father (a 20 year honorably discharged, retired air force veteran) that is now 88 years old, now requires assistance that his wife, my stepmother (also 88 years old) is not able to provide for him as she is also, no longer capable of doing so. By next week, I will have full power of attorney over my father's healthcare, property, banking & any other assets and liabilities going forward until he passes away. While he is currently able to watch TV, dress, bath, groom, cook simple meals and feed himself, he is not able to do the following: Dr…

What about my Offspring?
Dear Veterans, I need assistance in determining whether my adult child is entitled to any VA disability benefits. Although she was never in the service, she has developed many of the psychological issues that I suffer from because of my neuro-behavioral condition after exposure to the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. She has never been to Lejeune either by the way. I have been awarded permanent and total unemployability from the VA because of my condition. It stands to reason that if my offspring was affected by that same condition through me that they should be entitled to some benefits. If this doesn’t seem too outlandish, where should I begin? Thanks in advanc…

Effective Date(s)
Hello, Amazing forum, I've been searching through it endlessly and happily seeing fellow Veterans are being taken care of! I was awarded 60% (50% service connected PTSD and %10 for Tinnitus) in 2015. Upon going through my records (VA Problems) I found that I was diagnosed by the VA Dr. in 2012 (within 1 year from returning from Afghanistan) with "Nightmare disorder" (has anyone seen PTSD diagnosed as this?), Insomnia and Tinnitus. Even prescribed Prazosin by the VA Dr which was for PTSD (I had suicidal thoughts while on this and discontinued use). This was NOT a C&P exam but a VA appointment. My initial claim did not have PTSD listed or tinnit…

Sorry for the long post but I really need assistance. I put in a claim for plantar fascitis in 2012. It was denied in 2013 and I appealed it. It was denied again in 2018 and In 2019 I appealed it again and it was once again denied. In 2020, I filled an higher level review and the VA noticed an error. I was scheduled for an exam here in Ga where I live. I attended it on 02/06/2021. The company that was contracted to do the appointment was LHI. After the exam, the VA stated that they needed clarification on the medical opinion. LHI scheduled the medical opinion of a NP in Texas to do this. The medical opinion was done on 04/26/2021. This morning, I called…

VA Claims Help From Other Companies
Can anybody recommend a decent company to help with a new claim, as well as appeal existing claims? I don't want to work with https://vetcompandpen.com Any other suggestions will be helpful. I'm at 60% and the recent claim was partially approved, and partially denied. I have a few other things I want to add so I need a company willing to do both. The last company I used moved me from 40% to 60% but will only work with existing issues, and will not help with new claims. I know they charge, and I'm happy to pay. AG

Where do I start with this?
I've been tdiu for 8 years now (lower lumbar 20,right leg 10 pstd 70, bladder 30) I was undergoing surgery for a service connected issue on my spine. long story short, I had a stroke during the surgery and woke up incontinent, ED, headaches, high blood pressure. I've had to use catheters and pads for years now. I only found out a week ago that it was a stroke that caused these issues. The doctors had no clue what happened and where acting like it was some kind of medical mystery, even though i woke up paralyzed and bleeding internally. After that I was rushed back for emergency surgery. Because of some constant testicular pain my non VA neurologist did an MRI call…
