  1. I looked through the CFR, but I am not sure about something. Do scars have to be a certain size AND be painful/unstable for a rating? The way I understood it, it seemed as if they either had to be a few inches in size OR be unstable OR be painful. Is that wrong? The VA sent me to a C&P exam recently (without me asking believe it or not) because they saw that I had scars secondary to a SC condition. I have a 1.5 inch scar and four 2ish centimeter scars, which the VA described as secondary to a SC issue. The Dr. said "oh, they average about 2 centimeters", which I guess is accurate except for the bigger one. He did say that he was writing that they are all painful and unstable. I'm having trouble believing that I could possibly get 30% for 5 weee little scars that hurt and never seem to heal. Did I misunderstand the CFR? Thx
  2. Thank you everyone for your responses.
  3. Hello, and thank you to anyone who takes the time to consider my post. I just got word from the DAV that I have been bumped up from 30% to 60% from the VA (which, is pretty much amazing to me since they have always denied what seemed to be the most obvious claims). Anyway, I did the math on the claims they awarded, and seems like they rated me too high. Can someone help me with this? I have used the disability calculator, and done the math myself as well. I don't want to give too many details on here because I am paranoid, but all of my issues are all othopedic in nature (back, knees, ankles, wrist, feet, elbows, etc.). I was awarded 20%, 10%, 10%, 10%, and 10%. None of the issues are bilateral. So, how come they are saying my "combined rating" is 60%? Shouldn't this be 50%? Thanks.
