Good afternoon to all. I am new to the forum but I have been reading for at least a year. I recently got the biggest thrill when I helped my father with his claim for Throat Cancer from AO. He has received temp 100%. He also has a pending claim for his PTSD. This decision has been deffered to the JSRRC for service verification, which I don''t understand since he was AO service connected for his Throat Cancer. This is the one i really want for him as he has been dealings with the effects for as long as i can remember and he was originally diagnosed in 1982 but denied comp due to being unable to verify in country service , even though his DD214 states "Vietnam Service ribbon for service in Vietnam" Any way I just wanted to say Thank You for all of your inputs, if not for this forum and the great advice given by the elders of the group on similar cases I would not have been able to successfully help him.
Based on previous cancer awards seen on the forum, I am sure he will be getting his check up to reduce his award due to his successful treatment. Question I have is with his voice still impaired, constant relux issues, constant sore throat and continual drainage in his throat, what level of comp do you think he will get. He has a TDIU claim also in process but it was deffered until his PTSD issue is resolved which I hope will make the whole issue of reduction a mute point.
Anyways, starting to ramble, I just want to tell all to have faith, listen to the advice given, research and have all of your ducks in a row. Get all the IMO's needed andthen the hardest part , have patience. It is a long process.
