  1. I was rated 70 percent on 16 APRIL 2014 (70 PTSD 10 Tinnitus, and 0 lower back)with tdiu deferred. I filed for TDIU immediately and in less than 60 days it was granted. I checked the letter generator on ebenefits and it says I am scheduled for a review in 2018. So I guess I will need to take some of the retro and get a couple IMO to help keep me at 100 percent. I have a question maybe someone can help. Is it possible to have my spouses student loans discharged? Ive searched and searched and cant seem to find any answers but thought I ran across something that said this was possible. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. My C&P went really well. It was contracted out to a private practice. We even both became a little teary when I had to recount my stresser and she mentioned it in her report. She also stated i could not work with my disabilities. I felt really good after the interview and asked if she takes private insurance because I felt it helped me but sadly she didnt. I hope that is enough. But I do have an appt with my dr next week to get an IMO started.
  3. Question about form 4192. Have you tried to obtain employment in the last 5 years? My answer is no, will that harm my chances? Also Have you been under a doctor's care in the last 12 months? My answer is is no, besides my CP exam Ive really haven't seen a dr regularly for my condition. Ive been to two separate drs I looked up on google but it was 5 years ago but I didn't keep the records because of moving so often and my memory is so bad I cannot remember the names of the drs. First time I went only saw the dr once and he prescribed me lexapro and I didn't feel like it was working after 3 months so stopped taking it. Second time I saw a different dr and he prescribed me Cymbalta and after I lost my job in 2009 insurance stopped and I had to withdraw from it on my own (worst experience ever and I will never take an antidepressant again). Is there a way to look up these drs names and get my records?
  4. Just got my 70 percent disability rating for PTSD last month. Tdiu was deferred and they needed forms 4192 and 8940 filled out, my condition makes filling out these forms hell so I went down to see my VSO because I cant figure things out and need help. The VSO was very rude to me and threatened to have her power of attorney removed and told me she has powers to have claims denied and would do so to mine. She was crazy. There is alot more to the story but id figure id make a long story short and just say I need to know how to remove her from being my POA and find a new VSO or maybe do it myself? Here is a little backstory, 2007 original claims filed with VSO for Tinitus, lower back, claims denied 2009 first time filing for PTSD, done by myself, denied because I was unable to make c&p appts 2013 reopen myself/C&Ps given/ 70% PTSD Somehow they are still my POA even though I filled for myself in 09 and 13. Also, VA Form 4192 * Request for employment information in connections with claim for disability benefits Have been out of work for almost 5 years now. I called my former employers to have them fill this form out. Can I email it to them, have them fill it out and email it back to me? Is this the proper way to go about doing it? And from what the directions say they only fill out sections 2 and 3, and the va fills out sections 1. Does that mean I shouldnt fill out section 1? And how do I go about sending it back to the VA? Thanks you for the help, sorry if this post is sloppy its been a long day and there have been alot of triggers for me so my symptoms are terrible right now. Good news is I got copies of my C&P reports and am registered at the hospital now.
  5. Ebenefits posted my retro payment this morning but instead of direct depositing it like I was reassured on two separate occasions it would be, they decided to fubar things even more so by mailing it to an address I haven't lived at in 5 years. I called and waited on hold for over an hour only to hear there is nothing they can do. They cant cancel or track the check, so I just have to wait for it to return back to them. Only thing else I could think of doing was call the local post office and see if I could leave a message for the carrier to keep a look out for it and not to deliver. I did and they told me they would leave a message but who knows if that will happen. Been told this happens often, any other situations similar or suggestions on what else to do would be helpful?
  6. The BBE came today.... well actually two thick regular size envelopes. Confirming what I found on Ebenefits, 70 percent PTSD, 10 percent Tinnitus IU deferred, two other conditions denied. Got a lot still to do but I am happy for now. Still waiting on the retro, I have a funny feeling it will come within the next couple days.
  7. Thanks everyone. Just kicking myself in the butt for not appealing the first two decisions. Still no deposit in my account, Im thinking friday or Saturday. When will my first monthly payment be? April 1st I assume? One more thing I wanted to add that might or might now help others. After it went to prep for decision, I called the Reno office literally twice a day. Everyday the same person answered, she sounded like Roseanne Barr on her period. I think I annoyed her so much she just wanted to get my claim out of there. I will try and find the number, the guy from the 800 number gave it to me, and I think it might have been a private one because when I first called she wanted to know where I got her number from.
  8. I just got done figuring that out. All I did was start a new application and it said right there 70 percent effective FEB 2013. Question: They also granted me 10 percent for tinnitus. I first claimed that SEPTEMBER 2007 3 months after I separated . It was denied and never appealed. Shouldnt that be retroed back to my seperation?
  9. Your right, I'm just hoping now I get backpay from the date I filed and not the date of my C&P exams. Fingers crossed!
  10. I put in a claim for PTSD in 2009 which got denied because I wasnt able to make my c and p appt. I never filed an appeal. In feb 2013 i reapplied and had my C and Ps done 10 March 2014. Been checking Ebenifits non stop for the last week after it went into prep for notification on 10 april 2014. Today it went to complete and I checked my AB8 letter and it says 70 percent with an effective date of 1 January 2014. My question is how accurate is Ebenifits effective dates. I would think my retro would go back to when I originally filed. Anyone have opinions or a simular case? Thank you!
  11. Still nothing on ebenifits, checked the letter generator also. Im hoping the decision letter comes this week. Got my fingers crossed. If a claim gets reopened does the retro go back to the date I originally filed or when I first reopened it? Are there any similar cases on here?
  12. Hello all, I EAS'ed August 2007 and immediately filed my claims. I wasnt able to make the C and P appts and my file was closed with a 0 percent rating on all my conditions. Filed for an increase February of 2013 and I am now in the final stages of my claim (Ebenefits says preparation for notification), also I received a call last week from the VA asking for my spouse and dependent information. Before they hung up I asked "does this mean there has been a decision?" and they said they couldn't answer that over the phone but there should be a letter in the mail within a week. She did say she thinks I will be happy with the decision??? Couple questions 1. Is there any way to find out the decision before the letter, i've tried threw ebenifits and couldnt find anything? 2. Since I was awarded 0 percent originally, will i be retro'd from that date or will it be from when I originally filed for an increase? I am pretty confident I will recieve a rate increase. The PTSD CandP went very well, I asked the doc at the end what she thought and she can and will make a diagnosis of PTSD from her interview. Ive also been out of work for 3 years because of my symptoms. Same with my audio CandP and lower back.
