I was on 120mg of morphine a day 5/325 Percocet for breakthrough for lower back pain for over 10yrs. My doctor retired and new one immediately cut it in half. I went to patient advocate to complain was sent again to pain clinic In the room was Pain Doctor, a psychiatrist and my new doctor for a hour they talked me into reducing meds down to 5mg of Oxycodone 4x. They said try for 4 weeks and if not working they will increase it plus I had to go to sleep study. What an idiot I was after six months of pain and changing doctors ETC... No help went to Medicare pain clinic and OMG he is awesome with epidural and pain medication I have never been better. The only drawback is I have to pay out of pocket for meds and copays for nerve burning and epidural very expensive . Ask my VA doctor to help me with refills he said will not take my Medicare doctors paper prescription for opiates. Also I emailed the VA pain clinic before using Medicare that they all should be ashamed about how they do not care about quality-of-life or that I wanted to die if had to live in this much pain. No REPLY from anyone there.
