After my husband passed away, he obtained 100% disability and no compensation. The question is surviving spouse benefits added amounts , one is 8 years provision, but after my husband passed away, he obtained 100% disability service-con, so if that means he hadn’t a disability rating of totally disability for at least the 8 full years up to his death? Or if have some special way calculate the 8 years ? So I can quality for this 8 years provision benefits. Thanks

If it is possible that the claimant allow to find Physician in other hospital instead physician of VA hospital to do the examination for aid and attendance form ? Thanks

thank you Seminoles , yes he had the college va representative certify him every semester for his schooling and my son also ask representative who also tell him just to wait ...maybe after graduate can got the money ... I am not sure what we need to do because now he need the money to study .... And my son does not live with me ,we rent a room near his college , is this way some thing wrong ? Thanks

Hello Berta , can you help me take a looke my question: i am a 100% disability Veterant and effective date is 8/2015 , and my son who study in university of PA since 01/2015 he applied chap35 award and he got approve from VA on 2 /2016 and he return the VA letter that he want the pay from effective 8/2015 and called VA if he still need some paper information and they said it is done and just to wait ... But we wait until now no any response and no money and tow more years son will graduate. So what we need to do or still wait until he graduate then VA will pay the whole money for the education? Ms Berta , I read this medical records , there are 500 pages that is difficult to see this diagnosis . I found there say : arteriosclerotic heart disease 10% service connected , that means we no need to claim about this , is it right ? And "bronchogenic adenocarcinoma of left upper lobe of lung " or "primary malignant neoplasm of left upper lobe of lung "it do fall under that respiratory lung cancer criteria too ? No anything denied by the VA and the PTSD award letter did not deny anything . He does not get SMC . He say the purple heart only is a honor no any money . This week we will go to hospital ,next week I will go to bank box to take the last decision and show you . Thank you Ms Berta for you time

But for those injuries he got a Purple Heart , and now he got 100% disable ,is it same things with compensate for the war injuries ? Thanks Ms Bater

MS Berta , No nothings about be compensated for those war injuries, do he need to apply for it or is it automatic VA will give him ? But VA treated him was free .

I dint know why I couldy reply to posts earlier but it's working now Thank you ms Berta and mr Gastone for all your help. I appreciate it. During the war he was hit by a bomb and he has a false chin and false teeth. He also only has parts of his stomach remaining due to the bomb. We don't have any of his diagnoses but we will be obtaining one from the doctor. I'm not sure if this is of help to us now.

I am sorry I wrote wrong word it is 20% loss of hearing , 70% SC PTSD and never say any other percent only say they have their way to reach the rate and he got 100% ,(9years ago my husband was 60% ,it took us for 9 years to get the 100% ,we went to ask about this many times and we almost gave it up already , until 4/20/2015 we apply again ,And the 100% affective date was 8/25/2015 ) I nenver saw about the heart disease on the paper and I am sure that he do not have heart disease in a past decision, as a NSC disability .

Thank you so much MS Berta and I appreciate it . My husband was treated by the VA for the cancer , last week just finish a larynx surgery and next month it will be lung cancer surgery for him . And now he is 66years old , when he was 55.he had a heart blockages . Last month he was diagnosised lung cancer after this was diagnosised larynx cancer and the second cancer was not metastasized from first cancer . ( and his whole teeth and the lower jaw are artificial ,only have half stomach ,these all cause by the war ）
