just recieved 0% rating for allergic rhinitis, I was under the impression I would get an explanation of why 0% was given( i didn't get any reason). I also have mild sleep apne& headaches, can that be presumptive to my allergic rhinitis? Would appreciate if anyone could give some insight. tHANKS!

Recieved 0 percent rating for Rhinitis, i have claims for headaches and sleep apnea being reviewed , what are my chances of getting a favorable rating on these 2 symptoms? I haven't filed for Gastric (ULCER DUE TO TAKING PAIN RELIEVERS FOR OVER 30 YRS.) yet.

Greetings Airborne Hazards Open Burn Pit Registry Participant,
We would like you to know that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) started processing disability claims on August 2, 2021, for asthma, rhinitis and sinusitis on a presumptive basis based on particulate matter exposure during military service in Southwest Asia and certain other areas – if these conditions manifested within 10 years of a qualifying period of military service.
You assisted this process by joining the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry (AHOBPR). The information that you provided was included in the decision-making for these 3 conditions.
It is important to note that the presumption is based on particulate matter exposure which can be caused by a variety of sources to include sand or dust, exhaust from diesel fuel and other engines, air pollution, and burn pits.
We encourage you, if you have symptoms suggestive of the 3 conditions such as a chronic cough or ongoing runny nose and sinus congestion, to get evaluated by a health care professional to make a diagnosis and to file a claim if your condition fits with the presumptive conditions.
You can file a claim by going to this website How To File A VA Disability Claim | Veterans Affairs
In addition, you can visit VA.gov or call toll free at 800-827-1000 for more information. Also, VA is reaching out to impacted Veterans and survivors to inform them about their eligibility and providing information on how to apply for benefits.
We also encourage you to ask your battle buddies who have not joined the AHOBPR to consider joining by going to Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry (va.gov)
Please visit VA.gov or call toll free at 800-827-1000 for more information.I wasn't in Southwest Asia or Other Zones mentioned, but with my MOS i was exposed to Petroleum Products(diesel, exhaust , mogas fumes, dust, etc) , I'm currently diagnosed with asthma, sleep apnea, chronic rhinitis, headaches-migraines, diverticulitis, arthritis. i have been dealing with sinus, headaches since 1987 which was documented in my medical records. your Claim's looking good. and as some extra info, my father has COPD, never smoked a day in his life, he was in the Fire dept from 79-83, all those chemicals they used back then are now known to be carcinogenic and caustic, get ready in another 10 years or so to file a COPD claim.
Thank"s for the supporting info, I have been dealing with headaches(2 episodes every month for the past 32 yrs),sinus (allergy)condition, lower respiratory infections every 4 yrs or so,diagnosed with sleep apnea 2 yrs ago.I GAD TEST DONE BY V A pulmonary(test were good), but had a couple over the year's from current employer 's physical exam showing slight decrease in lung function.I have document from active duty showing when i was seen for the headaches, sore throat, stuffy nose),also when i was hospitalized for acute respiratory disease(possible meningitis it also stated on the medical record).I also spoke with V A Environmental about my exposure to fuel ,and exhaust vapors(he blew off and told me to contact my primary physician and that they only are with Iraq&Afghan veterans who were exposed to pit burning .There are a lot of thing"s I'm finding about now after all the year's of being out of the military, I hired an Attorney last year to help with my appeal.

Would like to know what are my chances of getting compensation for sleep apnea, headaches , and sinusitis. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with acute respiratory disease(possible meningitis according to records) during basic training. Throughout my 4 yrs. of service i was treated for sore throat, headaches and cold like symptons. In 2000-2003 I had surgery to remove tonsils, repair deviated septum, tube in ears twice, suffered hearing loss due to sinus fluid pressure in ear canals, and suffered from pneumonia ,lower respiratory infections over the last 24+ years. I had sleep test done 2 years ago(diagnosed with mild sleep apnea),still have headaches, sinus infections, what are my chances of getting service connection, was denied by V A 2 yrs. ago, I filed appeal. Can someone please give a little input? Thanks!
