  1. I don't perceive your response as being one of a jerk. That's my main purpose for posting because I know no one would sugarcoat or steer me wrong and I appreciate all responses. I will wait until I can get my c-file and see the reasoning behind the denial. Thank you so much for the feedback. Truly appreciated!
  2. All meds were prescribed. 800 mg ibuprofen and naproxen. I got injured in 1994 and took the medication until discharge off and on. I was granted SC for high blood pressure as well as for the injury to my back. I also claimed UTI but that was also listed not service connected. I am unable at the moment to upload my documents because I'm not good at doing that on my cell. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for the percentage I was awarded. I just know that there are some very knowledgeable people in our circle and just wanted to see if any others may have information about this.
  3. Good morning, my claim just closed last week. My rationale is that the damage to my kidney had to have been caused by the medication given to me for my back pain. When I got out of service, my primary care provider told me that sponge kidney occurs when you have consumed too much ibuprofen or if I have sickle cell and I don't have sickle cell disease. My kidneys were just fine upon enlisting. If it's not service connected then I have no choice but to move on. Just thought I would ask to see if any of you had any insight on this. Thank you for responding
  4. Hello all. So I got my rating for multiple disabilities. The main issue I thought would be awarded was Kidney Disease. I have a sponge kidney and suffer from kidney stones frequently. I had no issues before service. I had a back injury and was continually given 800mg Motrin to help with the pain. I did and have done research that states too much ibuprofen can cause kidney damage. I'm at a crossroads. I know that every issue a person develops can not be blamed on the service and I'm not trying to seem ungrateful because I truly am blessed for getting the 80% that I was awarded but, I'm wondering if I should seek an attorney to get this issue service connected? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good evening.
  5. Good morning all. I have read multiple posts on this but I am just wanting a little more experienced input. So I have recently noticed four new closed requests on my claim. The projected completion date started out as August 2020. Then went to June 2020, then April 2020, now October 2020. My intent to file was July, 2019 and was marked recieved October 2019. Should I just stop checking? I only check to make sure they don't need anything else from me.
  6. Good evening all, I have yet another question concerning some of the language I have seen on my claim status. Although it has been a long time, I do still remember most of an incident that happened while in service relating to the sexual assault I was a victim of. I reported the incident, there was a trial but I do not recall what happened after that. Now that I look at my claim status, it is saying that their request for MST Restricted report was closed. Also, there was another request that says closed which stated MST DoD Letter (I have no idea what this means either). I looked up the difference between a restricted report and unrestricted report and there is a big difference. What bothers me is that I have no one to call to ask about how they came up with this status. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I have been unsuccessful in getting any information pertaining to this incident. I am just curious because if there is no record, how are they able to just determine it was restricted reporting? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Take care.
  7. I was stationed in Spain. I was hoping the VA could obtain a copy since I was unsuccessful. I however do still have contact with a few people I was stationed with that have written letters on my behalf which I have submitted. Hopefully that is enough.
  8. I was overseas when it happened. I contacted the command over there via certified mail and they responded saying those records are only kept for two years. What I'm curious about is how did they come back with it being restricted if there is no record and I did Google restricted vs unrestricted which there is a big difference in how such cases are handled.
  9. Hello, how's everyone? I have been checking on my claim quite a bit lately. I had to call the 1800 number because I noticed the format had changed. I'm curious about a few things that I wasn't really given answers to. So, one of my claims was for MST. It stated MST restricted report no longer needed. To be honest, I know that my assault was reported and there was a trial. I tried getting the court records but was told they didn't keep records that long since it was 1995/96. Any thoughts on this? The staff told me they were only waiting on this then my claim would be processed. Been in gathering evidence since November, 2019.
  10. Thank you all for your feedback. I am thankful for this site and the support I have seen. A fellow veteran was the one who told me I should have sought help years ago. I'm one of those people who thought if I'm not homeless and severely ill then disability is not me. I've suffered for over 20 years . The MST didn't dawn on me until press coverage pointed out to me that this is what I've suffered all of this time, then the physical pain I have suffered could also be service connected. It helps to know I'm not alone. Blessings to you all and especially in the times we are living in. I just hope this journey I have embarked in doesn't create any more stress than I can handle in trying to get compensation. Have a blessed day ❤
  11. Good day all! I have been following this forum for a while since I filed my initial claims and am very impressed with how questions are answered. So here I go....I filed my intent back in July, 2019. I met with a VA service representative who told me what I needed to get in order to submit my claim. It took several months to get all DBQ's filled out by my primary care provider and my counselor. I submitted all paperwork including buddy statements for an assault that occurred while serving overseas in 1995. My question is this...I uploaded everything through ebenefits, fully developed and was scheduled two C&P exams with LHI in November. I'm not sure how the exams went, but I was experiencing flare ups with kidney stones, back pain and my blood pressure was 159/120 at the time. I have like 8 claims that I never knew I could claim until just recently. I was honorably discharged in 1998. I had a back injury in 1995 which is documented in my service medical records. I was a Master at Arms while serving and since I've been out of service could not resume the profession but am gainfully employed. An exit letter in my service records states that I should only work a desk job. Will this be service connected? Also my projected decision date is June, 2020. Is this standard from what you all have heard of in filing a fully developed claim? Sorry for the long posting. Take care
