  1. That $250.00 economic recovery payment ,According to Mark Lassiter (SS press officer ),will be delivered beginning in early May and throughout the month. Those recieving it will be: adult Social Security beneficiaries, SSI recipients,Except those recieving Medicaid in care facilities, VA and Railroad Retirement beneficiaries, . If you receive benefits from more that one of these , you only get one recovery payment. For more information go to www.social security.gov/payment. Hope this answered your question. Rev. Pam
  2. Go check out VA Watchdog dot Org. He has a page "Filing A Claim with the VA -What To Do. " He also explains step by step through the process. He gives addresses to obtain the information you need. I haven't used his process yet,but I intend to soon. Best to you Pam
  3. Hello, I'm new at all of this. My husband died 11/21/06. I spent the months before his death in the worst nightmare anyone could imagine . and then add the VA. After claims not filed by the service officer ( or none could be found) and lies from everyone in and connected with the VA, I tried my congressman, that fell on I really don"t care ears. I am only one vote , after all. So I tried something that just might have helped, it didn't hurt me any way. I put together a packet of my documents that proved what had been happening to me. I included a list of all of the people who would be recieving the packet. Shortly thereafter I recieved a message on my phone that my claim had been "unofficialy" approved. About a week later I recieved my first DIC check ,via the funeral home in town. I'm still trying to get that fixed. I've recieved two checks so far, but, I still haven't recieved that "official" notice. This is after a month earlier they couldn't find my file, nothing to show I had a claim at all. I still have so many problems to solve with the VA . It has really taken it's tole on me. I've decided to take my energy and try to do something positive and help our local Vets haveing a hard time. What I would like to do is organize a mail your packet day, when we could put the VA and all our reps on Front St. I'm working on that locally ,but, I would be proud to stand by you and share my notes and addresses with you if you would like to try this on a scale larger than my local try. All of my contact information is on my web at woolbertscountrymastiff.com Thank you Pam
