LeatherBill's Achievements

  1. I am so stressed out over all this>But i guess anyone who has to go thru this feels the same way>
  2. I attended my Tele-Confrencing Hearing a week ago.I am not sure how it went>But during the Hearing the Judge ask me to explain what i thought my Stressors were.I began to explain my duties during my service and explained the body recovery i was envolved in and it was all i could do to keep from breaking down. But i continued>And more questions about dates/times and even names of those i recovered>I said i couldn't bear to give names of those bodies i recovered>But the Judge tried to press the issue>>>Why was all i could say>And i could barely get my words out. So i don't know or i am not sure how the hearing went...How long after the Hearing could be before i know if my Claim is either Denied or Approved>If it is Denied What can i do !
  3. I am 54yrs ogf age and Vietnam Era Veteran>I have a claim for PTSD and an Eye Injury. The last year i have been having Chest pains along with Numdness an aches on my left side. Well the VA in Marion Illinois has run all kinds of test an x-rays >All they say is i am just old. But now i am wondering if they are just railroading me. This VA hospital has had some very serious issues concerning treatment....So i am feeling that thier credibilty is a serious question. So i was wondering if the VA pays for outside Diagnosis. I am also wondering if there are any other Veterans familiar with the VA Hospital in Marion Illinois
  4. Thank You all very much >I really am feeling like all my waiting an paperwork may have been in vain. All this waiting has nearly emotionally drained me>Not to mention financially>I am 54yrs old and i have been told i should not be working>But the bills won't wait. And everyday is as painfull as the last>So any kind of positive re-enforcement is always helpfull....All i have is Hope!!
  5. I served 12yrs and have 2 Honorable Discharges>My last discharge was Under Other Than Honorable(OTH). During my last 4 yrs i began to suffer from various Financial an Stressfull situations.I tried to get some help from my Command but was blown off. Later i was in an explosion that left glass in my left eye.It ws shortly after that incedent i began to have nightmares of events that happened during my first tours of duty. Well under advisement from my Doctors at the VA Behavioral Clinic i put in for Disability an Compensation. After the usual mountain of paperwork i was approved for Medical Treatment Disabilty>But with no Compensation. The American Legion advised me to Appeal which i have. Now after 3yrs i have been scheduled for Tele-Conferencing Hearing in two months.Great uh! Well now i have been told that because my eye injury happened during my OTH time-i could not recieve Compensation>>>So have i been waiting for nothing >I mean am i in a futile situation. Can anyone give me some advice
  6. Yes The VA said i was entitled to full Medical Disability but they gave me no Compensation. And SS said i wasn't Disabled enough. And yes i joined in 1973..
  7. Thank You any incouraging info is helpful an re assuring
  8. I served 12yrs and was discharged in 1985>Last yr i was granted Disability with no Compensation>My American Legion Rep. said that was not right>So he filed an Appeal>I recieved a letter last month saying i was scheduled for a Tele-Conferencing hearing but not a date . My American Legion Rep suggested i apply for SSI>I did and was turned down>I am just barely meeting financial means>But i have to work even though it is painfull >I really don't know if there any hope the VA will Compensate me before i can no longer continue to work. Anyone have any suggestions or something
