  1. Thanks for your response. I was rated 100% P&T in 1989 but it was a cumulative rating meaning not one disability was rated 100% by itself. It was a combination of disabilities that rounded off to 100% P&T.
  2. My 100% P&T was awarded in 2005 but was made retroactive to 1989. The VA did not address the aid and attendance issue back the. More than 20 years went bye and that 100% P&T is now a protected rating. Recently my conditions have gotten worse so I approached my VA Primary Care Doctor and she favorably filled out the 21-2680 Aid and Attendance Form. I am waiting for a VA decision and I am suspect of a P&T Examiner because they are not your friend.
  3. Thanks for your insight and response. The VA Primary Care Doctor listed all my disabilities and affirmed I need assistance with Daily Living like bathing, medicine applications. and toileting and getting dressed. I believe all the bases were covered but I am unfamiliar with how the VA would accept it. I also had my wife and son write Lay Witness Statement attested to the fact they they assist in my daily living needs. I have been to C& P exams in the past and do not trust that venue at all.
  4. I was awarded 100% combined Schedular Permanent and Total rating in 1989 and the VA did not address the Aid & Attendance issue at that time. I did not need the benefit then. I am now in my 70's and my disabilities have worsened. I recently applied for Aid & Attendance three weeks ago after my VAMC/Miami Primary Care Doctor favorably completed the VA Form 21-2680 for SMC-l Aid and Attendance. I was wondering if a C&P will be required by the VA as the VA Form submitted by my VA Primary listed all my disabilities that are required for SMC- l Aid And Attendance.
  5. Thanks for your advise. To clarify I was examined by my VA primary care doctor and she completed the VA Form 21-2680 for SMC-l Aid & Attendance and described all my service connected disabilities. The Doctor covered all the points necessary for a grant of SMC-l.
  6. I have been 100% P&T since 1989. Recently my conditions have gotten worse and I went to my VA Doctor and she filled out an Aid & Attendance form very favorably. My question is will VA grant the SMC-l out right based upon her favorable findings. Or will they call me in for a C&P exam?
