  1. I was in the Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988 and was deployed to Okinawa and Korea. We had a Navy corpsman who was very funny and a very good guy. I hurt my ankle while in and I am having problems with it now. I am trying to get a hold of him---I thought I saw on this site where some people were helping others locate lost buddies? I do not really want to join one of those pay services to search some possibly out of date public records. Anybody have any ideas? Timintenn
  2. I got out the Marine Corps in 1987------I have a copy of my smr and was shocked that at my exit physicial --I noted that I had frequent trouble sleeping--was acknowledged and signed by Navy doctor that day. Over the last 22 years every doctor that I have been to (6 family doctors) I have notes in my records about me not sleeping and they have given me some form of sleeping pills. In the last 3 months have been diagonosed for osa at my 2 night sleep study and now I am on the cpap. Do I have any chance in hell getting this service connected----was signed by navy doctor in 1987 as frequent trouble sleeping and diganossed osa sleep apnea in 2008-----I have been suffering since my Marine Corps days? What do you guys think?

  4. Hello all, I need some help and ideas. I have just turned in a claim for my ankle (major arthritis) and limited ROM from a documented Chip fracture from the Marine Corps. I have very limited knowledge about this Va claim process but I am learning alot since I have found this great FORUM. My questions to all you knowledgeable people are about other things that may be related to my ankle claim. CAN ANY OF THIS BE RELATED TO MY ANKLE. 1) I am obese--I cannot walk more than 15 minutes without major pain. 2) High blood pressure. 3) Restless at night and wake up of the morning still tired ?????(sleep apena) 4) Constantly sore knees 5) Bottom of my right shoes wear out un-evenly from the way I walk. Any ideas -any comment -will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TiminTenn
  5. Hello all-just starting my VA journey. I have been having problems the last couple of months with ankle and went to a private doctor and he was in shock when he saw the x-rays. Part of my tibia bone is missing, I have bone fragments loose in my ankle and I have major athritis in my ankle. He wants to do surgery-now. After being out of USMC for 22 years I sent off for my service medical records and this is the same ankle that is documented (7 different dates) for major swelling, pain and turning black and blue after I fell off a 30 ft platform in Okinawa. They thought it was a bad sprain---but after 6 visits to sick call over 6 weeks they decided to x-ray ankle. They found the chip fracture and put me in a cast with crutches. This did help the swelling and pain. It did start to heal. But now 22 years later I am having major problems with pain, swelling and ROM. I have great insurance with the company I work for and I have been to 2 different orthopedic doctors and 1 foot and ankle doctor who all say MY ANKLE IS SCREWED! I have some other health problems that I think are related 1) Sore knees 2) Cannot get good sleep at night 3) Overweight from not being able to exercise I have turned in my paperwork for my ankle claim-----do I wait untill I get that settled before I pursue this other stuff? Thanks for the help Tim in Tenn
