knee is cracking each step that I take. The Doc said this do to my limping

and favoring my left leg with my right. Reccomended cordazone shots for now and possible surgurey later on down the road.I got the C&P exam results.Called for status in Oct Nov.Dec. Finaly on Jan 15th 2007 I was told my claim along with a few others was brokered out to another RO for rating do to backlog in Pittsburgh on Jan 11th.Called Pittsburgh yesterday

and was told the files are being returned to Pittsburgh for write up and I should get my dission letter near April 23rd. Almost a year to date.

  3. Is it commond for a RO to transfer files to Other RO's for rating and final decision. I called Pittsburgh today for status. I was told mine and a bunch of others was transfered to other RO's because of backlog. Is this a good thing or not? It just might be.

    Any info will be great.

  4. Hi folks, I had a exam on my right knee at Pittsburgh VAMC. The doctor said I have deterating cartlidge and arthritis with x-ray's. I am s/c 50% for lumbar and both left and right lower extrimities. I am claiming my knee condition due to my limping, and favoring my left leg. with my right as secondary to s/c injury. The RO has the exam report from the Doctor. Will this count as my C&P? Or do you think they will line me up for one? I called RO in Pitts for status and they told me they requested my file for what I don't know!!

Any idea's on the rateing for my knee? VA Doctor sugessted shots and P/T, in the future canidate for knee replacement, I am not to keen on that idea. In his report he wrote there IS evadence of mild to moderate DJD right knee, with arthritis.

    Any help will be great

    Thanks mrstix

  5. Good morning

While in the Air Force I had to have emergency Gall bladder and Gall stones removed. It was pretty bad, on IV drip for 4 day's before they could opperate, full of parinitis poison. Nice size scar with 14 staples, in the

hospital for seven day's, on sick leave 6 weeks. Had the operation at my home town hospital, I was in no shape to make the trip to Wrightpatterson in Dayton Ohio, our nearest Active duty Base. The bill was almost $18.000, it was paid in full, by the Air Force. Acording to CFR:38 (7318) Gall bladder removal of: with sever symtoms, It sounds like I can, but I want some opions first from you all.

Thanks for all of your help

  6. Hi everyone, I just called the #800, to check the status on my claim. The guy read it off the screen to me. When I filed it, when I had my C&P, then he said it is in Q status. then going to rating board 26th of this month, then I should get my letter the first of Oct. and a check the first of Nov.?? Do they know all this, even if it's finished, or is he just telling us what we want to hear? This claim was for an increase for my S/C injury. He did seem to pretty sure of himself, and what he was saying, would be nice if this is koosher. He did spend some time with me on the phone.

    Thank's for help

  8. Hi folks, I am 50% DDD for lower back and both left and right legs SC. I filed five new claims Dec. 6th for

cervical spine, high blood pressure, high colestroal, ED, skin rash50% of my body sever psoriasis from stress. I feel and so does my PCP these are realted to SC injury, thru the med' and inactivity and stress.

Anyway I called the 800# the lady was real nice put me on hold, and came back ask me a couple questions and then said it was at the "raters desk" can this be, without any C&P's? My rep. and I put together a real good package, with just about everything we could think off, he is my SO from the VFW, in Beaver Pa. a great guy. Thanks for your time, any help on this question will be great.

  9. Good morning to all, I sent my letter for a increase on my rating certified mail on Dec 6th and got my

receipt on the 8th. At this time I am rated 50% service connected, injury to my lower back, and left and right

lower extremity's.DDD, lumbar spine L-4&5 effecting both legs.* I turned 55 on the 6th also*.

This happened in 1999, while deployed for "Allied Force".

My question's are, will they request another C&P, or just review my file and make a decission, or just reject it ???

Now that I am 55 years old, does that do me any good, in any ways concerning my claim?

I am getting CRDP with spouse, at $165 a month, does anyone know what it will be come 1 Feb. 06?

I want to wish you and your family's a very merry x-mas and happy new year, and thanks for all your help.

  10. Hi brothers and sisters.

I am going to request an increase in my rateing, at this time I am rated at 60% lower back and both legs 20% each, total overall rateing of 50%. Is there a fourm requesting an increase, or do I just write a letter

requesting it? My tricare PCM and my local VA clinic Doc both prescibe me with Rx's for med's for pain and imflamation. for my service connected injury. Thank you for your help in this matter.

To all of you vet's and your families happly holidays.

  11. Good morning to all.

What is the process of requesting an increase in my rateing? I am currently 50% and with my latest MRI

it is very possable acording to my Tricare PCM my neck pain is a result from my lower back service connected injury. How do I start the ball rolling on this request? Will there be another C&P exam, or will the board take the opion of my apointed Tricare Doctor and latest MRI results showing damage to my C-5,6,7

with spinal stenosis? All of your help will be welcomed.

Thanks to all and have a good day.

  12. You should as the Doc is backing you. Are you able to work?

Hello Pete53, Yes I do work at UPMC security officer Sat. and Sunday more or less fire watch and let the mail man in with Med's and the mail, nice easy set down job. Little extra gas money.

Thanks for your help and the best of luck to ya.

    MrStix

You should ask your doctor to provide a letter giving his opinion that this is secondary to the lower back problem.

These phrases should be included in the letter:

"I have reviewed his Service Medical Records, from Induction to Discharge, and his current records since discharge".

"it is at least as likely as not that this is secondary to the lumbar condition".

Without these statements, the non-doctors at VARO will ignore the letter, and state that it is invalid because......

Thanks wallyg, I am going to do it, thanks and take care.

  13. Hello Brothers and Sisters,

In april my tricare PCM ordered a MRI on my cervacl spine C1_7 for a lot of pain and nummness on the right side of my neck, chest, and right arm, down into my right hand and fingers Results are Damaged areas

I have a claim on my lower back, legs and hips, 50% VA disabilty, I asked the Doctor could this be caused from my lower back injury " He said Yes" should I ask him to state that in a letter and request the VA to raise my increse my percentage??? My lower back injury "is service connected"and I will be receiveing CRDP the 1st of November. I am in need of all your help in this matter.
