  1. Hello all,

I just received my C file and was looking at a C&P report done for sarcoidosis "that was denied" When asked on the report is it at least likely as not that the sarcoidosis is due to military service he answered YES. The thing is that I did not have any entry in my SMR and it was over a year from discharge that I was diagnosed with the disease, but I did send in a study from the Navy that shows a direct link from non skid grinding to sarcoidosis. I provided evidence that I was exposed to the dust and had a C&P pulmonary exam that shows I have pulmonary problems. What do you think I should do with this info.

  2. :D This is my problem, I am 100% IU and have been for about 6 months. Since my award I have had surgery on my left knee that is SC for degenerative arthritis. I called my VSO to ask him about putting in a claim and he told me to "not stir the pot". Recently I have been diagnosed with hearing loss, tinnitus, depression from chronic pain and degenerative arthritis to my R ankle.

The hearing loss is documented in my SMR, hearing test that I was given when entering and leaving the service.

The other diagnosis are documented in my VA med records all stating that they are secondary to my SC conditions.

My question is should I file a claim now that I have all these other issues or wait. I have a C&P for my back in April so I am not sure what to do.

  3. Hello all, I was wondering if any other navy vet has been diagnosed with sarcoidosis, I was diagnosed with it several years after being discharged. I do not have a family history of it, and for that matter never even new what it was. I was doing some reserch on it and found several studies linking it to anti skid material used on ships. I was exposed to tons of the stuff when stationed on the JFK CV 67 in the ship yards they grinded the flight deck and hanger bay and I can remember clouds of the stuff and it going through the ventilation system. I did put a claim in for it with records from when I was hospitalized for it and also submitted the studies that the navy had done on the effects of anti skid grindings. I was denied SC for it and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

  4. Hello All, I Have been going through my active duty med records and found that when I had my induction physical for the navy my hearing was fine. fast forward 3 years and had a hearing test when I was changing commands they noted hearing loss on the report for medical examination plus I have copies of both audiometer readouts. I was a pit snipe down 3 main on the JFK CV 67. As of present my hearing is not to good do you think I can make a claim for service connection for hearing loss.

  5. He has a PCP and he also is going to specialty clinics for these problems. What I find amazing is that the VA put his claim on fast tract. From the time he first went to see the doc's to his award was less than 1 month. I literally had to drag him to the VA to get the ball rolling on his claims he should have done it years ago. Yes he was in country for 3 tours with the Phoenix project.

  6. Hello to all,

I have a question, My father in law is a Vietnam Vet with a couple Purple Hearts and is rated at 60% for PTSD and wounds to the legs. He just got rated 4 months ago he never went to the VA after getting out of the service. He also has a very bad heart and lungs do you think he can put in a claim for these conditions as secondary to his PTSD
