  1. I don't know if this is the right forum but I was reading and decided to seek information regarding my situation. In 2007 I was hospitalized in Perry Point, Md. with a diagnosis of severe PTSD. I attended an intense program to help me. I finished that and was told to put in a claim for the dx. I did so and never got anything back from the VA. I moved to another state and asked a VSO to check into the claim and found out that my claims had been included with the Haas V Nicholson case (Blue Water Navy). It didn't matter that I had submitted evidence that i had been in country and had been diagnosed with the PTSD. Eventually I was told by my VSO that I had been denied my claim for PTSD and I had waited too long to appeal. The problem is that I had proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that I had been in country. (DD214 +DD215 with orders and medals and previous stressors submitted.) After consulting with a local Congressman's office and getting a disability rating for one of the presumptive illnesses, the VA still has not even mentioned the PTSD. I have sent in a notice of disagreement in that regard however they denied that as well. Recently I went through another intensive 8 week course at a local VA for PTSD again and was determined to have gotten worse. I am wondering what else can I do to get some kind of decision on my case. I submitted the results of the latest hospitalization findings to the VA again. Any information or suggestions that anybody can give will be highly appreciated. Thanks
  2. I recently filed a NOD with the VA and it was denied. I am at a loss as to what to do as well. The odd thing is that even though I was denied for my claim for PTSD, I was scheduled for a C&P during the following week. (tomorrow as a matter of fact) Is this customary or is it a ploy by the VA to shortchange me again? I hope that I am not stepping on the original's questions, and if I am, please someone direct me to the proper place to inquire.
  3. thanks to all that replied to the post. I appreciate your assistance.
  4. how do I retrieve my C-files from the R/O? Is there a specified procedure to follow? I am new at this forum and would like to obtain any information that I can. I have been fighting with the VA now for a number of years and have just been recognized as having some of the problems that I have claimed in the past. Thanks for the help.
  5. I too had a problem with the VA not accepting irreputable evidence that I was in Vietnam. I contacted my Senator and it took a little while but I got results along with medals that I never knew that I had earned. The VA responded to my claims shortly after.
