  1. Hello all, I have had a request for correction of VARO error pending since April. They admitted it was a mistake on their part and I would be paid w/ retro. I just can't understand why it still takes them so long to get this corrected and paid out. You would think they would address these "no brainers" and get them out of the office so they could focus there attention elsewhere. Geez B)
  2. I have another part pending for hearing loss. Correct me if Im wrong but with the correction, that gives me 20% shoulder, 20% knee, 10% bilateral tinnutis and 10% for mild depressive disorder. I now get 40%, should now go to 50% correct? I know Va does the fuzzy math thing. The hearing issue appears to be wrong as well, Title 38 states that they are suppose to use the chart (there is 2) that benefits the veteran, if they did that I would get 10% for the hearing loss as well. Im wondering since they denied me back in January of 01 for the hearing would that retro or not? Thank You! I could send you the specifics on the hearing issue if you can help me? B)
  3. I have a quick question in April of 06 I won an increase from 20% to 40% but when reading my ratings decision I noticed that on page one it says 10% for chronic left shoulder bursitis is granted, but later in the letter it says 20% is granted for the shoulder. I immediately sent in a request to fix the error. Last week july 30th they admitted that it was indeed a mistake on there part and they would fix it with retro. How long does it normally take for them to fix these simple errors and to recieve the $? B)
  4. hey all, here it goes, I won my request for increase in April of 06, but found an error in regards to my left shoulder chronic bursitis. They rated it on the first page at 10%, but later in the letter it said 20%. Yesterday 31 July they finally admitted it was a mistake on there part, and that it would be corrected with retro to June 05. The question is how long do you think it will be from this point before I have the money in hand? Correct me if Im wrong but 20+20+10+10 should now take me to 50% overall?
  5. My claim is currently in review, does that mean the ratings board has reached a decision? If so how long should it be before I hear something from the review process

  10. did they actually say in writing that you did not get the job, if not try to get some kind of response in writing, without it you may be fighting a losing battle
  11. Don, here is the hearing thing: service connected ear (left) 500-hz 55* 1000-hz 55* 2000-55* 3000-55* 4000-60* average 105 decible loss right ear non serive connected 13.75 decible loss 96% speech recognition
  12. Hey all, just wanted to let you know that if you need help please private message me, and if I can I will assist you in any way. My speciality is probably combined ratings, I think I have a good handle on that one now. B)
  13. ok on the first page of the ratings decision they gave me an increase from 10% to 20% for the knee a new 10% for depression same 10% for tinnutis bilateral and in regards to the left shoulder it says 10% on the first page, but where it breaks down each issue it says 20% for the left shoulder, which would give me an overall of 50% not 40% like they're paying me now. also they denied my hearing loss, but the way I read Title 38 it appears that I should be getting 10% because my average decible loss for the service connected ear is 105+ with 96% speech recongition however it states in Title 38 that they are suppose to use whichever chart favors the veteran (higher numeral) so I sent them a letter on this as well.
  14. Hey all, I posted earlier, but only recieved 1 response and 32 views, I need feedback on this one. I recently recieved a decision getting 20, 10,10 and 10. In regards to the left shoulder bursitis it says 10%, but later on in the ratings decision it says under Deluca, 10% is added to the intial 10% for an overall of 20% for the left shoulder. It appears the Va has made an error. How long after you file the disagreement/request for correction does the Va usually act on these mistakes? Please reply!
  15. Ok on the first page of my ratings decision it has 10% for burrsitis of the left shoulder, further on in the decision it says 10% is added to the intial 10% (under deluca, for pain) for an overall of 20% for the left shoulder, but they are only paying me for the 10%, appears to be an error on the Va"s part. If they correct it combined with my others 10%,20% and 10% that should give me an overall of 50% not 40%? Has anyone else had this problem and if so how long do you think it will take them to fix it? B)
  16. I need help with this one all! My old rating was 10% Bilateral Tinnutis and 10% PFPS of the right knee for an overall of 20% My new rating 10% Bilateral Tinnutis, 20% PFPS (Increase), 10% Depressive Disorder and 20%Chronic Bursitis for a total of 60%, but they gave me 40%. Should i appeal this? If so will it effect my current award, and how do I file the appeal? Thanks all for the help!
  17. currently 20%, 10% for tinnutis and 10% for patellar femoral pain syndrome with degenerative arthritis award letter-20% chronic shoulder bursitis+10% depressive disorder and 10% increase for the knee problem mentioned above. The way the letter reads it seems like Im now at 40% total I guess
  18. I recieved my award letter today, but I am confused on this va math, please help me figure this out. Was 10% tinnutis and 10% patellar femoral w. deg arthritis for 20% Awarded says 10% depressive disorder 10% chronic bursitis(later in the letter it says "...under deluca additional consideration and compensation is awarded for pain. Therefore, a 10 % evaluation is added to the intial evaluation for a total evaluation of 20% for the left shoulder 10% increase for the already awarded right knee problems for a total of 20% The way the letter reads it seems Im now 40%, but I was already 20% , and with the 10% for the depressive disorder + 20% for the shoulder+10%increase for the knee should bring me to 60%. I know the Va does "fuzzy" math but seems to me I should be at least 50% and not 40% please help.
  19. Pete, please see my post, i could use the help. Thanks
  20. On to the next issue-hearing.....when I intially seperated and filed my claim, I was denied the hearing loss because the va said it was within normal limits as far as they were concerned. Upon the exam I had a PE tube in my ear, naturally it was somewhat better, but not like it was. Since then (2000) the PE tube has come out, and I can hardly hear anything at all on the one side. Upon seperation I had a job offered to me with a reputable police agency(big city), but failed the hearing exam, I have the letter. In June of 05 I went for treatment at the audiology department, and they noted significant hearing loss in that ear. They wanted to put another temp fix in place th PE tube, I told them that I wasnt crazy about temp fixes, and thought it was not right that I have significant hearing loss, and the va wants to continue for the rest of my life to keep getting this temp fix. August 05 I file statement requesting my claim be reopened due to new issues that I believe are secondary to my sc injuries, with evidence of course. November 2005 I quit my job as a correctional officer because I can no longer physically stand for long periods of time, in addition to the danger of not being able to hear on the one side makes things very dangerous for me and fellow staff. I have had part of my c&p exam and go for the rest of it in January 06 (audiology, etc.). The question is due to these job problems is there anything else I need to do for all of this? I am now only working pt.
  21. wings I guess I already did that back in August when I filed the wriiten request for my case to be reopened with statements and evidence to support my new claims, is that correct? The statement I gave them was a letter explaining each individual issue, and any evidence I had to support it. Thank you, so very much for your reply, I can use all the help I can get! kb
  22. Hello all, first time poster, former looker from the outside, now registered Ok here it goes...short as possible, I have 20%, 10%for tinnutis and 10%PFPS of Right knee. I was originally denied for hearing loss, tension headaches. In August of 05 I requested my case be reopened because of hearing loss: when I was intially seen for the hearing loss in 00 I had a PE tube in my ear and the va found that my hearing loss was within normal limits, since then the Pe tube has come out, and I can barely hear on one side. Also since the onset of my knee injury I have had moderate depression, though I was not treated while in the service, I was within one year treated by a family physician upon seperation. Just yesterday I went to my intial C&p Mental Health Clinic exam. The Psychologist diagonsed me as Depression Disorder. NOS, he went on to say that it is as likely to as it is not to be connected to my current ratings. QUESTION #1 -does this mean that it is, or is it not, I was under the impression that a decision llike this was to be in favor of the veteran. I still have the C&P scheduled parts for Audiology and ENT next month. QUESTION #2 once those are complete in January, how long approximately would I hear a final decision? THANKS All for any help you can give me!
