  1. i just recieved my c&p results im 70% mdd with secondary ptsd, 20% lowerback, 20% left shoulder. I also have bi-lateral hip arthritis which was caused in service but they deny it. I spent 2 months in the va hospital under the dual diagnoisis program which they kept me an extra month. Before the 2 months there I have been recieving out patient care for over five years. My regular therapist and doctor requested me to up my percent. While in treatment the counslers put me in for unemployability before I did my exams. I did recieve a unemployabilty paper in my decision package dont know if that matters. My gaf score is 40. I also did neuro testing which i was diagnoided with mild cognitive disorder nos, closed head injury. I thought after you had the rating to meet the criteria for iu you automatically recieved it. Iam happy I visited this site now I have a little more heads up of what I have to do. I have delivered pizzas for the most my time out of service, which I cant do it any longer I cant I told the counslers I would put a bullette in my head before I ever do that job again. So I do look for work but I cant find a damn thing I can do. I've went to college 3 seperate times but didnt make it due to concentration problems. I have no where to go. I need to be able to live without worrying without feeling guilty for how my life has turned out after my disability happened. I guess if the veterans could find me a job I could do and was gainful and give my quality of life back somewhat. Granted no one cant stop pain and most everyone in here knows that, and that will always be with most of us, we should still be able to live a life with some promise. I'm not going to count my chickens before their hatched all i can do is hope for the best. In final do I have to go through a c&p exam again.

  2. When you file for your IU, also file a claim for increase for your MDD with PTSD.

I was rated 30% ptsd before I recieved my claim, but from my understanding the ptsd is the secondary to the mdd. My Gaf score was 40 does that play a part of the decision. ty, for replying to my claim

  3. IU is not automatic. You must apply for it with the VA. Every once in awhile I hear that the VA will actually send a vet the form (I don't know what that form is though) for it....but that is rare.

Nothing is automatic with the VA.

You still will have to have strong supporting statements from your doc(s) as to why you should have IU....i.e. why you cannot work, etc.

They did send me a form in my rating package for unemployability, hopefully thats a good thing thanks for your imput

  4. I was rated a combined rating of 80% 07/27/09

    70% mdd with secondary ptsd

    20% lower back srain

    20% shoulder

I was just on the web reading about unemployibility, and I did'nt have a clue what it all involved until I started to read some forums in here. I thought if you recieved one of the ratings to meet the criteria for IU it was automatic.

I recently spent 2 months in the va hospital for my mental issues, in the dual diagnois program, which they kept me a extra month. They told me to file for unemployability and social security. I have worked since I've been out of the service but nothing but dead end jobs ive never had a gainful job. I was wondering should I worry about getting more medical statements that I am unable to find gainful employment. My last physc doctor found a new job, and she had my back and was the one that told me to apply in the first place. I have never asked for anything the only time my disabilities have been raised is at the va request for me to do so. I'd rather much work but I cant find anything that would be considered gainful. I havent worked since december 08. I was just wondering what are my chances.
