Thanks for your help. I think I'll still give the VA a week or two to see if they can wrap things up with my claim before I call them about the C&P exam. In the meantime, I'm aggressively seeking treatment from my cardiologist.

By coincidence, I already had an appointment scheduled with my cardiologist. I had a CT scan performed today. I guess I'll find out soon what's going on in my chest.
As for requesting a copy of the C&P exam findings from the VA -- won't that slow down my claim processing? I'm hoping that they wrap things up pretty soon; they have everything that they need. I'm afraid that if I contact the VA about getting a copy of the C&P exam, they will take my file and sit it in a large pile full of other records requests.

I received a letter from QTC today and say that I need to contact my physician regarding the findings of my chest x-rays and EKG from my C&P exam. Is this a routine letter, or should I worry that they found something unusual? (I'm claiming heart disease/heart bypass surgery secondary to SC hypertension.) Has anyone else out there received such a letter?
Thanks,

Yes, these are all C&P exams requested by the VA. I don't mean to sound impatient or whiny, but I'll just be glad when they finish. The extra compensation would help because when I'm too ill to work (and it happens a lot), I don't get paid.

In Aug 09 I filed a reopen claim for coronary artery disease secondary to my noncompensable service connected hypertension. I had heart bypass surgery in Jul 09. By Oct 09, the VA was on the ball: I had x-rays, a general exam and a stress test all on the same day. I thought that was it and all that I had to do was wait. But in late Nov 09, they scheduled me for an electrocardiogram. What's next???? B) It would seem that looking at my scars would be all the evidence they need.

I'm 70% for sleep apnea, migraines and a bad hip. I'm also noncompensable service connected for hypertension. I recently filed a new claim for heart bypass surgery and coronary artery disease secondary to my service connected hypertension. I've already had the new C & P exams for my new claim: heart stress test, ekg, xrays, etc. So as I was waiting patiently for a decision from the VA, I get notified that they want to do a C & P exam to reevaluate the severity of my migraines (from my original claim). My question is, will the C & P exam to reevaluate my migraines delay the decision for my new claim? <_<

I got my CT scan results back. There's some inflamed "tissue" in my left breast area. I'm not certain what this means, but it doesn't appear to warrant another surgery. I just have to bite the bullet and deal with the pain.
