  1. Greetings I don't know the type of cataracts that are growing in my eyes...I was just semi-shocked that they were growing at a rapid rate. I have listed some of the medications that I have taken over the past 5 to 10 years. Wow! Could some of these drugs help to cause my cataracts. Lisinopril (Prinivil) Metoprolol (Lopressor) Felodipine Flovent (Fluticasone) Albuterol Cromolyn Naproxen Hydrocortisone Bacitracin Tacrolimus (Protopic EQ) Allegra Flonase Peginterferon alfa-2b Ribavirin Steroid shots for my back pain Best Regards Chiefhouse
  2. Greetings I talk to my VSO about it and he said to leave it alone because both diseases are so closely related, and the VA decision is correct. I'll think about it over the weekend. Best Regards Chiefhouse
  3. MSSOUP1, Thanks for your quick response...and Happy Thankgiving to the Family. I did 30 years and had my share of fuel spraying in my eyes and other eye injuries. I've taken over 20 types of medication for my many aliments to include steriod shots for my back problem andd sprays for asthma and sinus problems as well. I'll be crossing the 60 line in six years, hopefully. I kept complaining and no real answer to my eye problem until recently. I'v been out for five years now and all of my aliments seem to be catching up with me. So, I'm going to pursue this and submit a claim to the VA next week. Best Regards Chiefhouse
  4. Greetings I just found out that I have cataracts developing at a rapid rate in both eyes. I'm been complaining out floaters, watering eyes, and poor vision well before I got out of service (well documented medical records). The doc said normally people with diabetes’s get cataracts but I don't have diabetes. I have a follow-up in six months or sooner if needed. Is Cataract Disease rated and what are some of the causes of this disease.? Happy Thankgiving Chiefhouse
  5. Greetings Berta Should I leave it alone or ask the question of why I didn't get two ratings, asthma 30% and Sleep Apnea 50%. I was rated 60% prior to this increase to 70%. I'm currently working and have four other reopen claims (lower back, skin rash, neck pain, sinus problem) pending VA decision---they were submitted Dec 2004. Best Regards Chiefhouse
  6. Greetings Just one quick question or two: Should I leave it alone or request for two ratings...one for asthma 30% and 50% for Sleep Apnea. Will my current rating (Sleep Apnea) be reversed If I submit a NOD? Best Regards Chiefhouse
  7. Greetings I was very happy that my sleep apnea appeal claim was approved. I was surprised that it was rated as an asthma/sleep apnea aliment versus two separate conditions and two ratings. Never the less, I'm very happy that it was approved. I'm currently still working...some good days and not-so-good days. I hope to here something soon on four other reopen claims: severe degenerative lower back problem, skin rash, sinus and neck problem. Thanks for your advice and support. Best Regards Chiefhouse ;)
  8. Greetings I received my brown envelope today and was rated 50% for Bronchial Asthma with Obstructive Sleep Apnea with an effective date of Feb 2004 and payment start date of 1 Nov 05 at overall 70%. I was rated at 60% prior to this increase. I requested my NOD be reviewed by a DRO. Thanks to all for this successful outcome. I have three other reopen claims pending review. Question: Will I get any back pay. Again, thanks for your help. Best Regards Chiefhouse
  9. Greetings I had only one sleep study which was conducted at Walter Reed in 2004. No VAMC or C&P sleep study. It was denied the first time because my medical records had nothing in it about sleep apnea. I appealed (NOD) and provided more medical data and said that my sleep apnea was misdiagnosed and maybe linked to my other aliments, which I listed. It’s been over a year now and no response. That’s why I ask the question, what are my options if it is denied again. Could my sleep apnea be secondary to my high blood pressure, back problems, sinus problems, asthma, fatigue and nerve problems... just to name a few or just misdiagnosed while treating the other aliments...I just don't know. Best Regards Chiefhouse
  10. Greetings I'm concern that my NOD will be denied again for Sleep Apnea. The appeal (NOD submited Sep 04) is currently being reviewed by a VA Appeals Officer and a SOC is being prepared. What are my options? Best Regards Chiefhouse
  11. Berta, Is the the test? I checked my labs and had the following test in 5 Jul 2003. I'm checking to if it was done over the last two years. HGB A1C 5.6 (4.5 -5.7) Best Regards Chhiefhouse :(
  12. Greetings I got a follow up appointment for 2 Nov 05 to see the doc about this protein problem. Sometime I do get that extra foam topping after going to the bathroom. Hopefully the doc will give a more definitive answer to this problem instead of just saying, "I've see you in six Months". I haven't but will start keeping good notes about the ups and downs of my health so I can give the doc's a step-by-step record of my problems...since I seem to have so many aliments now. If you can tell me what you think my problem is with the information I provided, why can't the doctors see the same thing. I sincerely thank you for your assistance and will surely let you know the outcome on my doctor's visit next month. Best Regards Chiefhouse :(
  13. Greetings Its me again with a couple of questions. Over the past two years I have been seeing the doc's about an excessive protein count in my urine. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this problem. I took more labs three weeks ago and scheduled for an ultrasound next month. Any ideas?????? These are some of the results from Jan 04 Labs IGG 2608.8 H (700-1600) mg/dL IGA 67.6 L (70-400) mg/dLl IGM 24.0 L (40-230) mg/dL Protein Total 8.8 H (6.3 -8.2)g/dL A1-Globulin 0.25 H (0.10-0.21)g/dL G-Globulin 2.16 H (0.65-1.47) g/dLl FERRITIN 708.8 H (30-400) ng/mL Best Regards Chiefhouse :(

  15. Yes, the picture in the attachment illustrate my condition. I don't know how I got it and how to keep it from continueing to invade my body. I've taken four types of creams and lotions to help relieve the problem but these things get popping up. ________________________________________ Idiopathic Guttate Hypomaelanosis is this it? http://www.skinatlas.com/hypomelangut.htm ________________________________________
  16. Greetings Has anyone been diagnosed with a skin disease called "Idiopathic Guttate Hypomaelanosis" and rated by the VA for this aliment. The reason why I asked this question is because my new Dermatologist said that I have this disease. Thanks in advance for your responses. Best Regards Chiefhouse
