  1. Applied for PTSD IU in Nov. 2010 . Got the good news 3-31-2011 PTSD IU P&T with no new Appointments. Looks good. I just keep going to Vet Center and Doctors Appointments till I die, which I hope will be a long long time.

  2. This is a followup to prior question. I had my final C&P exam a couple of weeks ago. Phychlogist stated she recomended P&T and and agrees that I should be PTSD IU or better. Before this exam I was rated 50% ptsd, 80% total. I know the regional office has all the info. they asked for. How long should it take for them to finish the process and send final answer to this claim. I recieved letter from VA yesterday that my claim was still being processed. I have been out of work since Nov. 21,2010 on recomendation of my private phychiatrist. I am now working with DAV, don't know how thats going to pan out. THANKS

  3. Thank you for your input, I have been diagnosed with PTSD by both a private phychiatrist and a VA phychologist 50%bPTSD 80 total. Just didn't fully undestant the process. I am not concerned about the interview, I think I know what to exspect. My first c&p exam didn't go as well as I had hoped,my fault, I just wasn't as prepared as I should have been, same for SS disability exam. It's a work in progress , I think this will get me where I belong since I can no longer work. Thanks again , Doc Kelly

Second and hopefully final C&P exam with QTC phycologist. Stated she was putting in my report P&T plus some othe important info. , should VA finally rate me as 100% or PTSD IU 100%? Thanks

  4. Since you may be waiting for a while how will you live while you wait? This is a big factor in many vets not wanting to apply for IU since they have to wait maybe a year to get it. If you can arrange a money flow while you wait you won't lose 30 pounds due to worry.

Saw phycholgist today for PTSD followup with QTC for VA. She stated that she was putting that I am P&T plus some other info should this mean I've finally reached 100%

  5. It is a "necessary thing", neither "good" nor "bad".

For you to be awarded TDIU you must have a C&P exam...........just as in all cases for claims, regardless (I know, there ARE exceptions, but.....).

And, by-the-way, you did not actually file a claim for "PTSD IU", you filed a claim for an "increase in disability", but, that's neither here nor there at this point.

I assume, by your posting that you have already been "officially diagnosed" with PTSD by a VA psychiatrist or board certified psychologist?

  6. I have applied for PTSD IU. I have send VA all the required paper work including statement from private phychiatrist stating that she recomended that I stop working and I did. VA phychologist agrees that I should not work. Got letter from VA that I have an appointment with QTC Phychologist for eval.or something. I meet all the rquirments for PTSD IU 50% PTSD, 80% total is this appoitment a good or bad thing.

  7. It sounds like your evidence is good as long as

"Lic. Opticiam for 37 years but now work has become a stressor" is not misconstrued by the VA.

Did any of these doctor's statement say it is because of your SC disabilities that they consider you to be unemployable?

Anxiety at work is related to PTSD from veitnam war. This info is availble to VA.

  8. I am presently rceiving 80% disability with 50 % PTSD. My VA phychlogist recomends that I should not be working. I went to a Private Phychiatrist and she wrote a report recomending that I not work. I sent in the proper paper work to the VA along with report from Doctor. Also my therapist at the Vet center is in agreement. I have been woking as a Lic. Opticiam for 37 years but now work has become a stressor . I have extreme anxiety at work that makes work too difficult. Medication helps only slightlly. Upon the Doctors recommendation I quit work and am now just waiting for VA response. Just wanted to opinion as to my chances for 100% PTSD IU. Thanks, Doc Kelly
