C & P Exam

Rate this question

Question

Hello all. I recently completed 3 different C and P exams. 2 with a physician assistant and one with a psychiatrist. The mental health exam went well. The doctor wrote down everything and nothing was fabricated. However, the physician assistant fabricated a good portion of his report including things that I did not say and including false measurements for my shoulders. He did not use a gnoimeter and his visual acuity leaves something to be desired. I am certain that I will be successful with my NOD because I have documentation from the orthopedic doctor I visited earlier this month to refute my claim. Additionally, I have a long line of documentation from my primary care doctor and physical therapist that document pain and range of motion that is much worse than what THE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT suggests. Thanks for letting me vent, Bill

bern381,

If this transpired during your C&P exam, you need to let your RO know immediately!!! Just write them a short letter explaining what you stated here and note that the recent C&P exam is insuffient for rating purposes!! If you do not let the RO know this, then they have no way of knowing what happened.

Bill,

Wishing you the best with your C&P outcomes! Glad that you got at least one good DR. that told things like they are.

I remember going to the VA for some C&P exams with my husband, he got some bad reports from some of the Dr's Assistants and Interns. I finally demanded that he get to see a "DOCTOR!"

It is also wonderful that you have lots of documentation from your primary DR to help with your condition...that should be just what you need!

I don't know if you know it or not....probably do, but you are allowed to bring someone into the exam with you. (Spouse or friend) That allows you to have a witness! Also, it helps some people because they tend to get nervous and forget to ask questions.

Let us know how things turn out!!! Again...best of luck!

Vike...Report it to the RO???!!! Why, so they can pat the jerk on the back and give him an "atta-boy" for enforcing the main objective of the VA to deny and delay when ever possible??!!!?? I can see one of us reporting this. The laughter will be thunderous.

Sounds like you need to do something in the near term. I'd suggest that that you talk to a lawyer that is qualified to deal with this sort of thing, and find out what kind of options are appropriate.

The PA must work under the supervision of a doctor, and both the PA and the Dr. can be taken to task.

The PA and Dr. might be accused/guilty of malpractice and defrauding the gov. since he is paid by the gov while doing the exam.

The PA harmed the gov and possibly you.

jaz,

Glad someone like you wasn't just born yesterday. This one made me laugh also. Sorry to offend anyone! Not that I don't get offended myself.

I placed a written complaint to the Patient Advocate at the VAMC and to the Regional Office about that Quack C&P that I had by the two Psychiatrist.

This did me absolutely no good. It is not like, there wasn't a road map drawn and medical records shown to dispute the complete examination.

Mrs. Moye employee for UnderSecretary of Veterans Benefits Coopers office even emailed the Huntington several times for me to have another just and fair examination.

The R. O office always stated, " It is the DRO"S Decision. "

No, this did not happen. I did not hear a darn word for 9 months when I received my SSOC and the Service Manager, stated I know that you feel that the last C&P was erroneous, but it was good enough for rating.

Sure!

Josephine
