Filed Claim/hodgkin's Disease

Question

I filed my claim electronically on 06/03/07. How long should it take to get a rating? Since it is a presumptive disease I would think it should get fast approval or am I dreaming? I have seen where one gets rated at 100% during treatment and for six months after. At that time it says you will be rated on residuals, what does that mean? It is amazing at the information I have been able to get through Hadit. Thanks to everyone who contributes. I am going through chemo at the present time and then will get radiation treatments. It has not been fun so far, the side effects are the worst thing. Any info or tips would be appreciated.

Veteran-I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with all this-

Hodgkins Disease and also Non-Hodgkins lymphoma are both presumptive to Agent Orange exposure in any incountry Vietnam veteran.

NHL does have the criteria you mentioned.

This fairly recent case from the BVA should show you the way Hodgkins disease is rated as to initial affects and residuals:

Also this is a good example of staggered ratings- I am posting separate topic on that.

As long as there is no other known etiology for this disability,in your case, and since it is presumptive to AO exposure- as long as you were exposed- this should be an easy award for VA to make.

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
