ronn
Proposition 9 - SJR 29: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the Legislature to exempt all or part of the residence homesteads of certain totally disabled veterans from ad valorem taxation and authorizing a change in the manner of determining the amount of the existing exemption from ad valorem taxation to which a disabled veteran is entitled." The amendment would authorize the Legislature to exempt some disabled veterans from paying property taxes and change the formula to increase the property tax break for others. Currently, 100 percent disabled veterans can be exempt from paying a portion of their property taxes, rather than be totally exempt.
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted October 22, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 22, 2007 Have to wait a couple of years for the fruits but would be a major help in Texas where Property Taxes pay most of the government freight. Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
