Berta
Project Salute is new and overwhelmed already by the need they see for their services- If you contact them at http://www.law.udmercy.edu/academics/vetclinic/nat_tour.php they would be able to tell you when they anticipate getting to the North Western states. They only have one van to accomodate the traveling lawyers which was donated to them by General Motors- so it might take them some time to reach every state- and hopefully they will get more pro bono lawyers involved as well as maybe more grants or donations to be able to secure more vans. Berta
Ps -they do have lawyers and law students who help with the claims at the University- the Mobile Van can only directly handle a limited numbers of vets one to one at each stop and then they obtain contact info for the other vets and the law school contacts them about their claims. Also they are doing a lot of out reach to homeless veterans at shelters and Stand Downs etc- the lawyer last night at SVR said 70% of the homeless vets they see are Vietnam veterans- luckily many homeless veterans do have cell phones- I imagine they do as a safety measure and they certainly need a means of contact for these lawyers- This program hopes to grow Nationally and expand to every state-which will take some time. and more lawyers.
