A denial will take much less time to decide because the RO does not develop the evidence before making a decision.

Usually a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

Awards coming from favorable decisions can take a lot longer.

Normally the vet is so pleased to get an award that the time spent waiting on the favorable decision is nothing to fret about.

Provided that a long list of denials does not preceed the award.

How long does it take after the C&P till a descision is made?
DAvid, Give the VA a few days to write the report. Then go to the Medical records section and fill out the form and get a copy of the C and P. I get copies of everything and scan them into a file. You can at least find out if the examiner is with you or against you.
