Reserve Vs Active Duty

My daughter is in the Army at Fort Knox. She has been active for over a year, being trained in Radiology, now doing clinicals. She is thinking of sigining up for three years regular active because if she does not she can't get VA medical benifits. My question is that all the Reserve and National Guard troops that have at least one tour over seas, they are not entitled to VA health care benifits? If thats true it doesn't seem fair. Your Daughter is entitled to full VA Benefits and does not need to join to get them. Someone is lying to her.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

If she was activated for federal service longer than 90 days in a time of war, it use to be called federalization of national Guard or reserves, then they are veterans. She does not have to do a three year active duty tour, she has been active.
