Using Iris To Get Nod Resolution

A reoccurring theme here at hadit.com is the lost NOD or the VA not seeing the NOD. I too had this same problem this past year and here is how I resolved the issue by using the iris communications.

Wow,,, poolguy11550,

That's pretty good. I posted here about my experience of getting no response from the I.R.I.S. lately concerning my NOD. I admit,,, before I did get something but it was about another question. As for my NOD, because I got no response, I had to actually go to the Atlanta office to resubmit it. My service rep said that my stamped NOD would still stand.

I guess that it has a lot to do with who's responding to the iris, but I can say that it has been my experience that iris works very well. I also resolved an issue at my VHA using this system.

poolguy,

From what I read in your downloads, the VARO only acknowledged your

NOD back to Oct 2007 - What happened with the June 2007 NOD you

originally submitted ?

carlie

It was the same. I actually sent in about five copies all together (cert mail), the June 2007 NOD was hand delivered to get the stamp proving when it got there. Why they only noticed the Oct 07 NOD- I am not sure why.

poolguy,

If the NOD generates a positive Rating Decision that would be four more months

of compensation right, July to Oct. So, how will you go? Wait for the decision

and if it's granted then NOD the ED ?

Actually, the NOD was for an Oct 2006 decision based on a May 2005 informal claim date. So it would go all the way back to June 2005 for back pay. Yes, if they mess up the effective date then I will appeal only that aspect- should that be the only issue.
