Signal6
I thought I read somewhere there are extra benefits if you reach 50%. Other than the obvious extra compensation, are there other benefits if you are 50% or greater? Thanks Tom

I'm not sure of them all, but I know free healthcare for non-service connected injuries (in addition to service connected of course) is one of them. The downside is you have to use the VA's healthcare. You can also apply for vocational rehab at, I think, 20%.

carlie
signal16, All medical care, treatment, RX's, prosthetics,etc... with no co-pays. If you fall off your roof, break half your bones, end up in a body cast and need round the clock care for months - VA will handle these needs with no co-pays from you. Also, Check your state veterans web site - you may have more benefits there, like a reduction in property taxes. carlie Edited February 25, 2009 by carlie sp Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed. The major shift here comes from 60% though. I can't recall the specifics (only 40% so far but hope March's hearing will change that drastically) but generally, Car registration pennies on the dollar with option of a special disabled veteran's license plate, Hunting/fishing license like $5. things like that.
