Need info help. Went to visit my local VARO yesterday to acquire a detailed 1-on-1 status of my Hypertension claim as secondary to DM-II & Diabetic Nephropathy(kidney disease). The rep indicated that I have a strong case for 'Request for Reconsideration', but it became an appeal which is fine. I have been fighting this claim since mid-Y2005. The VA onsite rep explained to me that my file has been forwarded to Seattle appeal team. Huh?? I ask why so, as they have an appeal team here also in Oakland VARO. Because they are backlogged, & few other excuses...bla...bla...bla...
Do you think it is worthwhile now to escalate to Secretary Shinseki? Can someone forward his full contact address.
Your hint or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
