Question

Ok ..have a question here & will explain what it is

Got a letter back from the RO about a NOD I filed & they are asking me if I want a

Decision Review Officer Process or a Traditional Appeal Process.

OK..Which do U think would be most help to me

Also,my dumb fault, they speak of talking to my Rep. who I have down as Clark Evans who has since died & I never bothered to change as I just thought having a Lawyer down as my Rep. would be the best thing & never bothered to get another one

Please advise on my situation

Thank you

Sincerly

GARY

First off,

Requesting a DRO is the easier and faster way of getting the NOD resolved. If all goes well, then your RO can review it right there in your RO. However, if you don't like the result of the DRO's findings, you will still have the option to ask it to go into the appeal system which is a lot longer because it goes to the next higher entity. This means it falls in line with other appeals outside of the RO.

You need to do something about the dead person since the VA needs updated info on if you have a VSO or not. The lawyer would be getting this info and handling the stuff. If he is no longer available and you are the main person working it, they need to know that.

My hubby went with a DRO and that took care of the matter very quickly. We knew he had the option to send it higher if the results were not satisfactory.
