Rating Codes

Question

I trying to find out if there is a Regulation or guide that explains what symptoms have to be present for each rating code.

I had knee surgery while in the Navy. I rated under code 5260, Limitation of motion. They removed Cartlage which is code 5259 and found arthritis which is code 5003 or 5010.

The VA says 5259 is covered under 5260, limitation of motion. I want to know if 5259 pertains to limitation of motion. I know I should have received a rating for arthritis but I need to know about 5259 before I request my rating percentages be changed.

Any and all replies wil be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

TAZ

In addition to Berta's suggestion, maybe you should check out 4.71a, musculoskeletal, since most arthritis sub codes come under there. The attachments are from the 16 Sep 2005 posting of 38CFR Part 4.

__4.73___Schedule_of_ratings_muscle_injuries.rtf

Hope this doesn't sound "stupid," but is there a rating chart for other symptoms? I.E. - Migraines, Skin Problems (Pscorasis & Alopecia), Depression. JUst wondering what they go by...

Thanks
