Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted April 11, 2011 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted April 11, 2011 Hello everyone, I am trying to help a veteran and have a question about rounding the combined bilateral percentage and adding other non-bilateral ratings. Bilaterals are 40% and 40% 1. 40% + 40% combine to 64% 2. Calculate bilateral factor: 64% x .1 = 6.4% 2. Add 10% bilateral factor 6.4% to equal 70.4% Question Does the 70.4% combined bilateral rating get rounded down to 70% or stay at 70.4% when combining with non-bilateral ratings of 30%, 20%, and 10%? Result when rounding down to 70% 70% + 30% + 20% + 10% = 84.88% = 80% combined rating Result when staying at 70.4% 70.4% + 30% + 20% + 10% = 85.0816% = 90% combined rating Any ideas which calculation is correct? chucknewcomb
there is a excel program that is supposed to be set up correctly and according to that this is what i come up with bilatterals 40=40 40=64 combined +10%=70.4 ok so we are the same at that point 70=70 30=79 20=83 10=85 total combined 85% rating 90%
chr49
I agree with Chuck I used 2 methods and came up with 85...paid at 90% with both methods. The bilateral ratings calculator I use rounds 70.4 down to 70 + 30 =79 + 20 = 83 + 10 = 85 rounding to 90% When I ran the figures thru the 4.25 combined ratings table it also rounds the bilateral to 70 and the rest of the figures exactly match the calculators findings. I'd say it's highly likely this veteran is looking at 90%. No guarantees...... but all of my results were correct when I was testing the calculator. Question
Vync
Hello everyone,
I am trying to help a veteran and have a question about rounding the combined bilateral percentage and adding other non-bilateral ratings.
Bilaterals are 40% and 40%
1. 40% + 40% combine to 64%
2. Calculate bilateral factor: 64% x .1 = 6.4%
2. Add 10% bilateral factor 6.4% to equal 70.4%
Question
Does the 70.4% combined bilateral rating get rounded down to 70% or stay at 70.4% when combining with non-bilateral ratings of 30%, 20%, and 10%?
Result when rounding down to 70%
70% + 30% + 20% + 10% = 84.88% = 80% combined rating
Result when staying at 70.4%
70.4% + 30% + 20% + 10% = 85.0816% = 90% combined rating
Any ideas which calculation is correct?
