Basically, the simplest "combined rating" to look at would be a single 100% rating, then other ratings not contained in the 100% that add with "normal math" to 60% or more. "Lo-Ball" ratings for conditions are not uncommon. The vet may end up getting or needing to apply for "TDIU", if the VA's ratings are lower than 100%. Teac Posted February 18, 2012 Share Posted February 18, 2012 WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF A VET 100% P AND T SCHEDULER FILES FOR ED EYE ARM CERVICAL LUMBAR WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR THAT VET RECEIVE SMC O / P AND BEYONG TO SMC R1 OR R2 PLUS SOME K AWARDS Anything is possible with the va .. but to be reasonable.... the max rating for and eye is 30% unless blind, and that only gets an smc of K, and would be based on how good the other eye is...... it would be almost impossible to get a rating of 60% for the lumbar spine because of the requirement of bed rest prescribed by a doctor for at least 6 weeks..which most doctors won't prescribe.... or Unfavorable ankylosis of the entire spine.... Based on what I know about smc's it would require loss of or loss of use of limbs to get beyond SMC L 1/2...... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
