Seeking A Vso In Yuba City/marysville, Ca (Sutter Or Yuba County)

I've got a buddy in Yuba City who is having no luck in finding a competent VSO. He's called all around but he is confused and not getting any answers. He's called CDVA, DAV etc but can't seem to find anyone. I'm hoping someone here might be in his area and can help me point him in the right direction.

Most vet service orgs are happy to give an appointment for a vet who wants to file a VA claim so I wonder why they are turning him down without even meeting with him.

The vet rep does not necessarily have to be in his same locale he lives in ,unless it is a county rep.

.In that case they should be willing to send him the POA form and initially discuss his claim with him by phone or mail.

Has he tried the VAMC he deals with as they usually have an inhouse VSO who helps vets with claims.

Could it be the way he is presenting his situation when he calls these vet orgs up?

The California Dept of Veterans Affairs head hunts top service officers from other orgs and pays them more money. My SO with the CDVA had a masters degree, worked at a VA hospital clinic for ten years, then worked for the VA as a rating specialist for 20 years when the CDVA made him an offer he could not refuse to jump sides and start working for veterans. He had worked for the CDVA for ten years when I met him. After a denial that was the result of the DAV totally screwing up my angioedema claim and throwing me out of their office. The DAV told me there was no way I could win, The DAV had been my rep for ten years for other claims. I walked down the hall to the CDVA. The SO looked at my SMR and told me he would fight the claim to the bitter end. He was totally aware of the medical principals involved. He got me sc'd on the next appeal with a DRO.

In some areas the CDVA gets their claims from referrals from county reps. Some area you can walk right into their office. I would recommend the CDVA any day over other orgs. Ask any SO about their credentials and experience. If they get weird about being questioned, find one who does not.
